I am sure it's a licensing deal. Perhaps CN has exclusivity to offer THOR for a limited time.

I hope we get THOR back here on Vudu to I can buy it in HDX. I was not a Vudu member back when Vudu had it available.

We might have to wait until the Thor sequel arrives in theaters this year.

I'm hoping these go in the Disney All-Access Area, or whatever they are calling the yet-to-be-unveiled Disney alternative to UV. I'd prefer them in UV, but a Disney app should have fairly widespread support (and they show a PS3 controller in the 'commercial', which is what I use).

It seems some consession could be made by studio, even if its Disney since they purchased Marvell. I Own Avengers, Cap A, and Thor bluray 3d, cant they at least offer a discount to have it in cloud with uvvu rights? Expecting me to pay $30 twice for each of the fli is ri-dic-u-lous.

I'm still anxiously awaiting for THOR to return to Vudu (HDX please!). It's one of my favorite Marvel films.

Yeah, those are only playable on Vudu.

It should be noted... that Disney does own at least partial rights to THOR and all of the Avengers movies (cept maybe Hulk?) that's why they are not UV. I don't understand the mechanics of it. As for being the biggest offender. I don't think disney would pull the rights after something was purchased... but who knows....

Disney lives in a magical kingdom where they make up international copy right laws that don't always follow real world logic.

By Disney's way of thinking... if you get a tattoo of a mouse on your hand they have the right to cut off your arm to take back their intellectual property....

However no one OTHER than them owns anything.....

    Remember the Kimba/Lion king controversy?

true, but probably the biggest offender would be Disney and these are the movies my family tends to watch over and over all the time.

I am not sure under what conditions they would choose to do this, but that is why I've decided to stop buying movies on VUDU and stick with DVDs and an occasional D2D for those really great movies.
I don't know of any movies that have ever been restricted one purchased. And given the way the industry is going, something like that would seem even less likely over time, not more. It's likely the "HBO window" will no longer apply to purchasing via streaming services in the future, either (let alone streaming existing purchases):

    http://articles.latimes.com/2012/aug...o20th-20120815

"Previously, when a 20th Century Fox movie was running on HBO, the studio could not sell that title on iTunes, Amazon, Wal-Mart's Vudu or other digital platforms. Now 20th Century Fox can sell a movie electronically even when it is in HBO's so-called window. That clause goes into effect immediately.

With Fox getting that concession from HBO, it seems likely that the pay cable channel's other two big movie suppliers -- Universal Pictures and sister studio Warner Bros. -- will want the same treatment."
