Strange playing problem

    Strange playing problem

    Last night I watched Water Horse and 10-12 times during the movie playing would stop and then restart. It would always backup 2-3 seconds before it restarted. According to the progress bar there was always plenty of movie already downloaded when it did this.
    My connection has always checked out at 6+ Mbps.

    Try rebooting the box. This may be a bug that the VUDU folks have been tracking down. Its very rare and almost impossible to reproduce.

    After that try watching a new movie and see if the behavior is different.

    You may want to give customer service a call and they should be able to credit your account for the poor movie experience you had.

    Let us know how things work out.

      This is the first time I've heard of this with an SD movie - I don't think Waterhorse is in HD is it? And usually when the lockup happens, it freezes for good in the movie. Ron's right - it could be the same issue. It should be fixed in 1.5 or so we hope.

      Also, did the notice of slow network connection come up when it froze or did it just pause and restart?

      You could have also had a bad peer assigned to you which could cause the same thing. I'm wondering if that's the case....

        I am taking the unit up north to show some friends and will persue the problem more when I return. It was not so bad as to make the movie (SD) unwatchable.

          The way you describe the issue it sounds like you have an RF interference. Does the progress bar come up when the video backs up these 2-3 seconds? In that case most likely a random RF signal looked like a wheel scroll to the box.
