I'm going to try to keep this short, as it's mostly a vent.
Since I started using VUDU, I have been plagued with technical issues ? all from VUDU's end, not mine; bad audio, bad picture, the title card of a movie being in a different language (yes really, check it out, The Island title card at like :24 says ?La Isla?...)
This latest problem made me crazy though, and it's over a stupid movie, but I own it, so whatever. Bad Boys II. At about 2 hours in, the audio starts making a phasing sound. I don't know how else to describe it. I emailed help. They told me they didn't hear it and to call them to talk to them. I didn't have time. Months later, Bad Boys II popped up on Netflix. The audio there was fine. The audio on my DVD was fine. So I called. Nope. They said I was hearing things. I asked what they compared the video to. Nothing. They just assumed the audio was correct. Well, it isn't. I told them to just remove the video from my library - don't even refund me. They did.
What I don't get, is that a company that ?prides? itself on superior audio and sound, would just disregard all of us that say there are problems. And usually, when you put in a ticket, they give you the run around with, ?what are all your specs? which is fine, but I just told you in the email I sent. Now I have to write back. And then after that, ?please call us?. Why? So we can watch the movie together? Cute, but I don't have the time. And don't tell me it's a problem on my end when I own the disc to these movies, have seen them on Netflix and HBOGO as well as other sources, and none of them have the same audio issues (yet they tell me it's the encoding they get from the studio; why would they send different files to everyone but VUDU?). Also, I have watched them on my XBOX 360, Roku 3, and computer, so it's nothing to do with anything on my end.
It's a shame, because I really love the idea of VUDU, but I can't justify buying more than I have. After all, the definition of crazy is doing the same thing and expecting a different result, right?
Anyone with helpful hints or anything would be appreciated, because I really don't want to go. If you've had similar issues then maybe sound off so we can put some pressure on them to give the customers what they paid for. Not that this is the first thread indicating problems.
