The Fandango at Home Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Fandango at Home experience. Here, Fandango at Home customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Fandango at Home and Fandango at Home -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc). Although the primary purpose of these forums is to help Fandango at Home customers with questions and/or problems with their Fandango at Home service, there are also off-topic areas available within the Fandango at Home Forums for users to chat with like-minded people, subject to the limitations below.

    SAMSUNG SMART TV VUDU App

    I have several smart TV's in my home. My favorite though is my 65" Samsung but the Vudu app gives you so little control over your movie library. You have no options like on Vizio Tv's, xbox, PS3 to sort you movies etc. Can there be anything done to update the app to be more like the Vizio Vudu app???

      I was told via email that the case has been escalated to the engineering dept as a feature request.
      I also have Samsung (51" & 64") and all you get on the VUDU app is My Movies in a most recently
      purchased order and NO other filter. The date on this email was 11/20/2013.

        It's so stupid you can't sort your movies in the Samsung app. You can sort pretty much everything except the "My VUDU" tab. Not a deal breaker but stupid nonetheless. I have a PS3 but streaming HDX through 2.4ghz wireless results in constant buffering issues. My Samsung SmartTV has 5ghz wireless connectivity and plays flawlessly. So, it's a toss up between the ability to sort and the ability to watch an HDX title all the way through.

          Thank you for your replies, I have 2 samsung smart blu-ray players and both have the vudu app and they have the ability to sort in the my vudu tab so I really dont think it would be too difficult to add this feature to the tv's which probably has more memory then the blu-ray player. If I watch a movie I prefer to watch on my 65" Samsung but my collection is over 1700 movies now and searching for a movie is taking way too long.

            UPDATE: They wanted a screenshot of my TV on My Movies Tab under My Vudu.
            Said this shouldn't be that way and are working to fix it. I'll let you know if I get
            more updates.

              I can't believe that the app on samsungs blu-ray player is better than a Samsung tv, but it is.
              No sorting option is painful, after having it added to all the other apps I got spoiled.
              Come on Vudu, help us samsung tv folks out.

                    I have a new Samsung HU8550 UHDTV. It's Vudu app has no sort function; it simply defaults to sort by "Purchase Time." FWIW, the Samsung BD player I bought with it has a completely different Vudu app that is great, so I know a better app is available. (Unfortunately, I'm not using that player with this UHDTV, so I'm relying on the TV's Vudu app, which sucks.) I've updated the firmware on the TV, but I'm not sure if there's a different way to update its apps. It doesn't appear as though there is a way to do that... What I don't understand is whether Vudu needs to push the update through Samsung, or whether the new TV simply isn't capable of handling the newer Vudu app. It seems strange that Samsung's $89 BD player can, but their $5K UHDTV can't. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

                      The new UI is being rolled out in stages as it's verified. As far as I know all Samsung devices will eventually get it.

                          Interesting. My Samsung Blu-ray players have not updated to the new Vudu app, but my Sony Blu-ray player did. It's good to hear that the new app is getting pushed to all devices. The app on the Samsung player doesn't have any kind of sort function, so it will be good to have that available.

                              Do we have a possible time table for this? I have 3 Samsung TV's and 3 Samsung Blu ray players, but find myself watching my not as nice LG TV because it has the updated vudu app. Now that I have over 500 movies on vudu, having no sort option makes trying to view movies on Samsung devices very frustrating. I even have a brand new 6500 3D Samsung blu ray player and it doesn't even have the updated vudu app. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Samsung support was no help whatsoever.
