Columbia Classics 4K Collection Vol 4 Digital Codes

I just redeemed my digital codes from the Columbia Classics 4K Collection Vol 4, and rather disappointed in what Vudu is offering:

His Girl Friday: HDX, Dolby 2.0 mono
Guess Whos' Coming to Dinner: 4K Dolby Vision/HDR10, Dolby 5.1
    Kramer vs Kramer: 4K HDR10, Dolby 5.1
Starman: 4K SDR, Dolby 5.1 (also appears to be an older transfer)
Sleepless in Seattle: HDX, Dolby 5.1
    Punch Drunk Love: 4K HDR10, Dolby 5.1

Yet, this is how Apple TV offers them:

His Girl Friday: 4K Dolby Vision/HDR10, Dolby 2.0 mono
Guess Whos' Coming to Dinner: 4K Dolby Vision/HDR10, Dolby 5.1
Kramer vs Kramer: 4K Dolby Vision/HDR10, Dolby Atmos
    Starman: 4K Dolby Vision/HDR10, Dolby 5.1
Sleepless in Seattle: HD, Dolby 5.1
Punch Drunk Love: 4K Dolby Vision/HDR10, Dolby 5.1

I would also like to note that on the 4K discs, all include Dolby Vision HDR and all but His Girl Friday include Dolby Atmos soundtracks.

Vudu has a new separate listing for His Girl Friday that is 4k. I can’t understand why they have so many issues like this when MA and iTunes do not.

And this is the excuse I am getting from Vudu customer service:

"the code that you received would not be 4K UHD the studio provided you with the lowest playback quality to redeem the code"

      Huh?

The agent also tried to tell me that I don't need to have this in 4K on Vudu since the studio has the movie available on 4K disc that I already own.

Actually, both companies have issues, too.

        Movies Anywhere:
His Girl Friday: 4K HDR10, Dolby 2.0 mono
Guess Whos' Coming to Dinner: 4K HDR10, Dolby 5.1
        Kramer vs Kramer: 4K HDR10, Dolby 5.1

Plus the fact that Vudu has a backlog of unresolved cases, so that is why we never hear back from anyone at Vudu support.

Gee, I wonder WHY the company has such a large backlog of cases?

I wonder have much of the original Walmart owned Vudu staff have remained since the merger, they were great when it came to resolving issues.

The current team is absolutely horrible.

Vudu created a new listing for His Girl Friday where you can redeem in 4K. BUT, the new listing does not have MA enabled so it does not port out. The old (HDX) listing is MA. Have no idea why and how this happened. If I redeem in MA, I can watch on other providers in 4K - but not on Vudu. I want to be able to redeem and watch on Vudu (my provider of choice) - as well as port out to MA to get the license on Amazon, iTunes, etc..

I called MA and they are now aware of it, but the more people who open tickets the more likely this is to get fixed. I also opened a ticket with Vudu on this, as well, but the odds of Vudu acting on that ticket are pretty slim, since my tickets from the FandangoNow library merge still haven’t been fully resolved.

Usually the box, or digital code slip states what quality you get for the movie(s); what does it say here.

It redeemed on MA in 4K. It redeemed on Apple TV in 4K. It redeemed on Prime Video in 4K. It should then redeem as 4K on Vudu.

Looks like the mapping on His Girl Friday from Movies Anywhere has been fixed. Apparently, Vudu had originally mapped it to a public domain version rather than the official Sony restored version.

Now I just need to figure out how to get that abysmal PD version out of my library.

You should now be able to redeem your code on Vudu - just choose the 2nd listing. Shouldn't be an issue since I do not think that there is a redeem option for the first. Thanks.

I unlinked and relinked Vudu from MA and my previously redeemed code now appears as 4k. Now just need Sleepless in Seattle to upgrade to 4k on Vudu and iTunes. MA just added HDR to the 4k.

I opened a case with Vudu "Customer Care" regarding the mapping issue on His Girl Friday over 10 days ago, and still no response even though it appears to have been fixed.
