    Blades of Glory

OK, I NEVER thought I would rent this movie. But a friend came over last night and we were messing around with my box and decided, "What the heck. Let's just see what it's like."

We made it through. Unless you like over the top, extreme satire, the movie is probably not for you. Everything was so overdone to the point of tackiness. However, there are a couple of hilarious scenes (particularly the one with the hot dog vendor) that make you roll. But in general, I had to say to myself, "This is pretty silly..."

It certainly won't appeal to everyone though...

It is interesting how many big names form the figure skating community make cameo's - Nancy Kerrigan, Dorothy Hamil, Peggy Flemming, Brian Boitano, Scott Hamilton (more than just a cameo).

aahhh not Blades of Glory, if there is one thing I hate about a comedy is when you've already saw all the funny scenes in the previews!!!

this movie receives a 2 out of 10.

I don't recomend this movie to anybody.

by the way Na9d did you get around to watching Pans Labyrinth?

I wouldn't recommend it either unless you like really intelligence insulting comedy. Again, the scene where the hot dog vendor said "You think that's right? Take a look at this and tell me that's right." Then it shows the two hot dogs in the bun side by side. That was the funniest 5 seconds in the movie.

I would probably agree the movie is a 2 if that...

And no, I have not seen Pan's Labyrinth yet...On my list...

I kinda liked this movie. My wife, on the other hand, loved it. But she loves anything with Will Ferrell.

I just saw this thread and I've got to weigh-in!

My wife and I thought that Blades of Glory was one of the funnier movies we've seen in a while. There are so many funny quotes in that movie if you pay attention.

I agree that it's nothing earth moving but if you're looking for a solid light comedy then this is it. Hilarious for me...

I haven't seen this movie yet but was about to rent it. After reading all these reviews I think that I will rent something else instead. There is nothing worse than wasting time on boring movies.
