The Fandango at Home Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Fandango at Home experience. Here, Fandango at Home customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Fandango at Home and Fandango at Home -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc).     Long story short, I was more than a bit peeved when my Blu-ray didn't arrive on the release date or even by the end of last week (no shipping confirmation, either). Since vudu doesn't respond to email over the weekend, I had to wait until today for my answer. I called the shipping office and, after being on hold for what felt like forever, was told it hasn't shipped because "the version I ordered has not yet been released". That version is the theatrical, which WAS released last Tuesday, and it was the only option I was given when I preordered. Needless to say, for all the hassle--and wasted time I could've had my movie--I sent customer service an email canceling my order, in bolded, underlined text. Still haven't got a response from that; should check my bank account to see if it's been refunded.

    I then when over to Best Buy and bought the movie. I really wanted the steelbook, but that's a Wal-Mart thing, and they're affiliated with vudu, so I resisted. Just another reason not to shop at Wal-Mart.

    I wasn't really happy with this whole process.

      Now they're telling me they can't give me a refund, save for half as credit. I was initially told I would get one and I've already bought the movie elsewhere and opened it. Last night talking with them was a debacle. This will get resolved.

        I posted some information in another thread about the buyer and seller's respective rights and obligations when shipping merchandise, so you might want to read up on the FTC's Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule yourself.

          Thank you for that, Max. After reading the FTC Rule, it seems I have that to back up my case. Unfortunately, it looks like the 30-day rule protects them from not shipping "when I expected", but it does mention that they MUST cancel an order and provide a prompt refund when "the customer exercises any option to cancel before you ship the merchandise", which is what I did, as I requested a cancellation and refund a day before they shipped it.
