Wish I could rent these movies....

Well, I can start keeping better track, but the last few movies I've looked for were:

    Juno
    Atonement
(I would have even accepted these under "coming soon")
Shooter - never heard of it, but a friend said it was good - purchase only
    Crash - also purchase only
Mr Fix It - went to HS with somebody in it, so would like to see it but not buy it - purchase only
I also did a general search for Stephen King...in which nothing came up. I figure I did something wrong, because I just can't believe there aren't any King movies...actually, I know Apt Pupil is out there (purchase only, of course)...

I think the older titles (like past ten years) are lacking a bit. But the new releases seem to be keeping up quite fine. I remember being a little dissapointed at first too - as your first inclination is to look for some of your favorites. But once I got rolling with the box and started mainly looking for new releases I've been extremely pleased. I'd still like Vudu to keep filling in the database with non new releases but for now I'm very satisfied.

I believe they are. I was scrolling through coming soon the other day and noticed that some of the movies showing up in there are not new content. So yeah, I hope that trend continues and accelerates.

My local Blockbuster doesn't have all the movies I might want to rent either...

Yep - agree completely. Most people don't realize that if you go to the typical brick and mortar Blockbuster store that their library of non new releases isn't all that robust. Yea - they have every new release but chances are if you're looking for an older movie (like Pulp Fiction, Tombstone, Friday, E.T., etc) then I bet you'll strike out at least half the time (if not more). I sure have.

Their online database has just about everything you could ever dream of but all they are doing with that is basically pooling their nation-wide brick and mortar stores in addition to some of their warehouses.

I've seen Vudu continuing to fill in some of the older titles and I'm quite content with them doing this gradually as we move along - as long as they continue delivering all the new releases in a timely manner (which they seem to be doing).

I also think there's a bit of a psychological impact here as well. Once people see the convenience of something like Vudu they begin desiring (almost demanding) perfection immediately. Convenience is only true convenience when it works without fail in almost any situation. And perfection in a movie database is going to be very difficult to achieve - you can't please every single user... it's just not going to happen.

I would like to see "Premonition" Sandra Bullock's new film.
I would also like to see National Treasure (original one) and the new one in HD when it comes out

I've been switching back and forth between VUDU and ATV looking for movies of interest and so far VUDU outpaces ATV.

I'm not sure if I'm alone on this or not but since I refuse to rent movies that are in stereo only, VUDU is also providing way more Widescreen titles that I would be willing to rent than ATV.

            Keep it up VUDU.
