When you buy these titles using the CinemaNow Disc To Digital service, you will have an UltraViolet copy of each movie you buy. Vudu is an UltraViolet retailer. So, if you convert a title using CinemaNow D2D, and Vudu has that title available for purchase on their site (even though they don't have it available for D2D in Walmart), then the CN D2D titles you buy should be available for you to watch on your Vudu devices.

I know that, but most of the movies I listed is not available on VUDU at all. In fact, only two of these titles are available for purchase only..."Abduction" and "Akeelah and the Bee" are on VUDU but not for D2D. I mention this in the hopes that it VUDU will see this and get them added. If CinamaNow can add titles to UV in their D2D program than VUDU should also be able to. I am thinking that their "list" is not up to date and just trying to help out those wanting to add tese titles and do not want to fool with using CinamaNow.

How do you know that? For example, for a long time, the iPhone was exclusive to AT&T. You couldn't get it for Verizon. Licensing is a funny thing. I don't see where if one company has a movie available, then the rest should, too. If Vudu sees your request and makes it available, great. I'm sure there's alot more to it then meets the customer's eye. I saw a title last night searching Vudu's list that said "Vudu Exclusive." Maybe other companies have exclusive agreements, too.

Go back and read what I wrote before...make sure you understand what it is that I said I knew.

First of all, we're not talking about the availablity of technology here...but many companies, like TMobile, are starting to offer iPhone. There is a lot more to that than just licensing.

Around here (on this forum) we're basically talking about UV licensing whcih seems fairly straight forward. These titles are available on Amazon and CinamaNow and they are all UV titles. My guess is that VUDU hasn't added them due to oversite and not licensing. After all, they have all the other Harry Potter titles.

Could there be other licensing issues that prevents VUDU to have this movie available for purchase and possibly streaming? Maybe, but I doubt it. I find it hard to imagine that a content provider or studio is going to purposely try to railroad the consumer's experience with this whole "digital locker" concept called UltraViolet that they helped to create. The studio is either UV or they aren't.

Why does there always have to be "alot more to it than meets the customer's eye"? Isn't the customer always right? Or could it be that some things really are so simple that we trick ourselves into thinking that there must be more to it.

I like to think that UV really is that simple because they claim it's that simple. UVVU.com even says to purchase an UV movie (or TV show) and add it to your digital collection and watch it anywhere via the cloud. "It's that simple!" Their website also says we choose where to buy, we choose our brand, and we choose our experience.

The titles are 'UV' titles and they are being offered on CinamaNow and other locations. VUDU is a 'UV' content provider so I find it hard to believe that they are restricted from allowing us to view a handful of UV titles.

All this being said, this message was really intended for VUDU's eyes and I would rather have them respond (not that I am holding my breath) as to why these titles are not available, or better yet...when they will be available. Also, please don't read too much into my comments as most are my opinions.

Well if "the customer is always right" you should have your movies shortly. I'm sure it's nothing but an oversight as you say. Personally, I'd rather have Vudu working on their end of things, including requests such as yours, than spend time explaining to you the wherefores and whyfores they do the things the way they do. Also, please don't read too much into my comments as most are my opinions.

Me too. However, as a customer I expect an answer when they cannot accommodate my request. When a company provides a forum on the website like this then I assume that they are looking to have such dialog.

Forums like this are usually described as user helping user forums. In fact, when I called Vudu support last night, their was a recording that stated that other users might be able to help me at the forums (or verbiage to that effect). Don't hold your breath for answers to every one of your questions. In my opinion, companies never owe explanations to customers. They do things the way they see fit. It is the customer's choice to do business with companies they like.

There is nothing wrong with customers helping customers whenever possible. But some issues and questions...like this one...can only be answered by VUDU. There are plenty of threads that indicates that VUDU wants to use this forum to communicate with their customers (such as the one for title requests and help). Not to mention the fact that VUDU employees often do respond in SOME threads.

So if Kentucky Fried Chicken had a forum, would you feel that they need to disclose to you what their eleven herbs and spices are?

Absolutely, if it made someone in my family sick. They would be required to disclose anything that might cause an allergic reaction at that point.

Why do you persist with this useless back-and-forth? Nothing you have posted here has been helpful or served the purpose of getting my questions answered or getting these titles added. Let us ask our questions and post responses when we actually have something to contribute.

You missed, as usual, my point. Think of me as keeping your thread alive. That can only serve to get your questions answered by Vudu. I'm sure they have a staff formed to tackle each and every one of your questions with an answer that you'll find suitable. What business works like that? I can't think of any companies that explain their actions to individual users. You might find one that gives a non-answer for an answer, just an empty string of words that even I could've come up with. But you'll never get any useful answer as to why, for example, a movie is offered by CinemaNow for D2D, but not offered by Vudu. All you'll hear Vudu say, if they say anything at all, is its due to licensing, agreements, studio decision, or some such innocuous answer like I've already given you. At any rate, I could post a million times, and not a one of them will stop Vudu from answering you. Maybe you should write them a letter.
