I disagree...I want to view a better quality instantly. I don't need to have "The Jerk" on HDX when HD will do and it give me that instantly. Let the market choose.....

I just dont think we should dumb down PQ so people can be impatient.

How about this, they can do whatever they want with HD, they just need to consider HDX as a requirement for all new titles, if not they are no better than apple and I might as well buy an ATV and get the tv shows too.....

If you are gonna charge $299 for a box and $6/movie, then there are some needs to be met. IMHO, $5.99 for what they call HD is pretty bad. Directv's HD VOD has sharper PQ, so where is the up take? After watching some movies, SD is right, HD should be $3.99 and HDX should stay where it is.

Vudu's biggest advantage is they offer the best PQ available in VOD right now, they need to press it hard. Im not saying they arent, because it looks like they plan too.

VUDU has said that their HD is equivalent to "Broadcast HD." Many find VUDU's HD quality much better than DirecTV. I had their HD package and I was a subscriber since day 1 of DTV HD roll out. If you want to see bad HD watch the SciFi channel HD on DirecTV that is bad quality but its still classified HD.

I know there is a lot of folks out there with big expensive displays and want to drive every bit possible but you know some don't have displays that will ever do HDX justice. If they think the price of $5.99 or $4.99 for HD cuts it for them so be it and the other benefit to them is that they can watch it instantly.

          Re: Indiana Jones

Agree Vudu HD is better than say a movie on FXHD, but I was comparing it to the D* VOD that allows you to download PPV movies, which is $4.99. The files, to me, look better than Vudu HD and cost $1 less. So my situation is this, if I did not have the credit from Vudu, Id just buy all HD movies from Directv VOD.

The next situation is Directv/Dish and cable co's are now getting into 1080p VOD, which looks exactly like HDX. Price will be another issue and Ill be curious to see what D* charges for 1080p VOD. Directv's 1080p beta test is done, and I expect to see the movies showing up in the next couple of months.

Vudu will have the catalog advantage, but for new releases, everything is real close to equal footing. Vudu wins in the "family in town, wants to see a movie that came out 3 mo's ago" because I can grab it in HDX real quick. Directv VOD had 88 minutes and Journey to the Center of the Earth in HD at the same time Vudu had them for download. Previously Directv was slow on adding VOD, but an insider stated they would be ramping up, and it appears they have.

I do agree that many dont care about HDX and also dont have the tv to enjoy it, but its the people that do enjoy it and arent ever totally happy (like me) that are the ones to help push new improvements.

I think Vudu is doing a great job and and I love the box so far, Im just gonna keep the pressure on em because I want them to survive. I try be as honest as possible on here because I know Vudu empoyees read this forum, and honest feedback is what they need.

They should at least consider dropping HD to $4.99 at this point, if not there is no reason for me to buy it from them as opposed to Directv (same download time, slightly better PQ)

Why would I care about Vudu if Directv has HD for $4.99 and is adding 1080p VOD? Because as stated above, the Vudu catalog is and will continue to be GREAT, and I have no problem with not giving all my money to Directv. If I had a feasible way to get ESPNHD for sports, Id drop pay tv and go OTA with a TivoHD
