    [Rec] (2007)

Like to see this in the original language (Spanish) if possible. The sequel is in Spanish with subtitles but the original is not for some reason. While I don't speak the language, I and many others, can in fact read. Seriously though, should I open a support ticket for this so the content team will be aware of this issue? No way I'm going to buy a movie that's dubbed. Come on.

Support tickets are meant for troubleshooting customer issues, not for requests. Post your requests on this forum.

    Thanks.

Hey Felipe! I posted it here as a request but it's more of an issue than a request. It's a Spanish movie that's not in Spanish. Other foreign language films such as Rec 2, Battle Royale, Amelie & The Devil's Backbone are in their native language with subtitles so shouldn't this one?

        Re: [Rec] (2007)

It all depends on what the movie studio gives us. As long as the movie is dubbed or has English subtitles then the movie is okay.

Still hoping I can buy this movie one day. The fact it's dubbed probably explains the poor 3.7 rating from the Vudu community. Its 90% on Rottentomatoes and 7.5 on the imdb. So odd the studio will only provide the dubbed version.

Yuck. I had bought this but hadn't watched in on Vudu yet. I frickin' hate dubs.

I had also bought [Rec] without realizing it was dubbed. Customer service was very responsive and immediately offered me a refund, which I appreciated. I do hope they eventually are able to add the original Spanish language cut, like with [Rec] 2 and [Rec] 4. Having both options available would be optimal.

I want to up this to request we get this movie in its proper format. It's been nearly 5 years since this was reported.

Very frustrating. I was going to purchase it elsewhere through another Movies Anywhere provider but they all have the dubbed version. They also all have a bunch of angry reviews and poor movie ratings since many people obviously don't want this dubbed garbage. I understand there are people who prefer dubbed but it makes no sense to not offer the original language since many (most?) prefer it. I don't blame vudu for this but it would be nice if they let the studio know how much this upsets people.

Don't take my word for it check out Amazon Video. 15 of 30 of the most recent reviews all talk about the dubbing...

Find the movie on Google Play and it's the same thing.

It's in Spanish when played back on Movies Anywhere, so I assume the studio can provide it to VUDU.
What's really nice about MA, is that on some movies, you can choose from various Audio languages and subtitles.

When I bought it on Vudu about a year and a half ago, it said "SPANISH" in the overview. Yet, I've been stuck with this horribly dubbed English version. Thankfully, MA has the correct version.

High Tension is another one falsely advertised on Vudu. It says FRENCH in the overview yet the movie is dubbed in English. It's NOT MA, so that means I'm stuck with something that I did not pay for. I went ahead and bit torrented the correct version. Figured someone owed me the movie I paid for. Turns out the legal channels don't work.

I don't understand why it doesn't say DUBBED in the title. For example Battle Royale has both the Dubbed and non-dubbed option and the dubbed one explicitly says so. Why can't they do the same in case there are some imbeciles who don't want the original format?

We have asked the studio about this issue back in 2015. They released this hybrid version of the movie (English dubbed and subtitled) since this is the only master they have available for domestic digital distribution.

I bought this film a month ago and finally watched it. I was really upset that it was dubbed and not in the original format that I first enjoyed the film. I find the dubbed version unwatchable! I tried to figure out a way to change it, but there seemed to be none. Now reading this forum I realize that there isn't. It's a real shame. I don't think I'll take a chance on another foreign film.
