REQUEST: Fantastic Four (2015) in UHD please!

Another MA provider (who shall remain nameless) already has this one available in 4K. However, they don't have a way to purchase the UHD if you already own HD. As such, it would be great if VUDU could add it so I can upgrade! THANKS!

Unlink your FN & UV accounts the UHD version will then be available for purchase. After relinking your accounts contact FN CS through their live chat to have your UV rights reconciled. The UHD version will be added and will port to Vudu when it becomes available. This will only work if you haven't connected FN to MA. Hope this helps!

Or you could just redeem the HD iTunes code, iTunes will upgrade it to 4K free, then once Vudu adds the UHD, it will port in from MA/iTunes.

Sure this works? I have yet to redeem a HD code at iTunes and get the upgrade recognized as UHD at MA and then port on to Vudu.

          DIRECTLY FROM APPLE:

Apple is ONLY upgrading iTunes Store purchases and HD code redemptions to 4K. Everything else will stay at the original purchase or redemption resolution, be it 4K or HD.

          To clarify...
          • If you PURCHASED a movie or REDEEMED a Digital Copy IN iTunes AND it's available in iTunes in 4K, you get a free 4K upgrade and will be able to play that back in 4K on the Apple TV 4K.
          • If you PURCHASED a digital movie in 4K somewhere else, like VUDU, AND it's available in iTunes in 4K, you'll be able to play this title back in 4K on the Apple TV 4K.
          • If you REDEEMED a Digital Copy code from a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray somewhere else AND it's available in iTunes in 4K AND that specific movie studio allows for 4K redemption on this specific title, you'll be able to play that back in 4K on the Apple TV 4K.

          But...
          • If you PURCHASED an HD version of a movie on VUDU, or one of the other streaming services, it will only playback in HD even when there is a 4K copy available in iTunes.
          • If you REDEEMED a Digital Copy from an HD Blu-ray in Movies Anywhere or VUDU or Ultraviolet, it will playback in HD even when there is a 4K copy available in iTunes. Please also note that some studios sell 4K Blu-rays with "HD" Digital Copies included.

Jeremymc7...that was my understanding of the whole iTunes senario as well. Was hopeing Wasteland would give an example of a HD redemption at iTunes that ported to Vudu through MA with a UHD upgrade.

If you redeem an HD code on iTunes for this, yes you get 4K and no it's not a show 4K/play HD. You own the 4K. This is common with many titles... It's how I have received nearly all of my UHD titles at Vudu, from redeeming HD codes from Fox titles.

You can also check the 4K Sheet to confirm this.

A better example is today. I redeemed an HD code earlier this year for War for the Planet of Apes, from Blu-ray. It upgraded to 4K in iTunes upon redeeming, it is now owned in Vudu in UHD.

So yes, if someone owns this title in question in HD and they use MA, they can redeem another iTunes code and receive the free upgrade from an HD code, and it will be UHD on Vudu once they add it. If you need more examples, I have many.

I'm not doubting you one bit, was just looking for an example. I have redeemed a butt load of HD codes at iTunes including WftPoA and not a one ported anywhere in UHD. At iTunes they were upgraded to 4k but at MA and Vudu they remain HD. This has been my experience with the whole redemption thingy.

I'm not sure why it would do it for some and not others? I know before I redeemed those HD codes on iTunes, I had already owned the HDX in Vudu, either from purchases or D2D, and later would buy the Blu-rays for family, and keep the codes for myself. Once I learned they were upgrading for free, I started buying more and redeeming. I've got about 20 UHD upgrades from Blu-ray codes, and most have ported to Vudu in UHD, a lot Vudu doesn't have in UHD, so just waiting. I said they were mostly FOX titles, but looking at some now and some are also Universal, I'm sure others as well.

More proof of free 4K upgrades from Blu-ray HD codes. I just bought Joy BR - redeemed the HD code via iTunes, it ported to MA as 4K and once Vudu adds the UHD, it will port in as UHD. The same thing can be done with this title if you find the Blu-ray cheap, which I'm sure you can now. Good luck and enjoy!
