The most annoying thing about buying individual episodes from Vudu

Whenever you buy a couple of episodes from a season, and not the whole season, I find it pathetic that you have to see the entire list of episodes whenever you go in to view your purchase. And if you buy an episode from season 1 and one from season 6, you still have all the seasons and all the episodes from each season showing up in your collection when you try to view. So you wind up having to search for what you own.

That's just stupid, in my opinion.

When you buy individual episodes from Amazon, ONLY those episodes show up in your library. So when you go in to view, they are right there. No unpurchased seasons and episodes to wade through

I bet that's by design. Same reason my cable company puts every channel they offer in my guide. They want me to see what I don't have. That way I'll eventually buy it, with their reasoning.

      Yeah, I am sure.

Cable channels I can understand...as you have the option to create favorites and only go through what you want.

Buying an episode is kind of like putting it in your favorites. I expect to be able to access those without have to scrounge for them through a bunch of stuff I never bought.

If Amazon can do it right, no reason Vudu can't.

Well there's no reason anything can't be done by anybody. I don't get why people continually say features need to be the same as another company's features. If I was in charge at Vudu, the last thing I'd want to hear is, "You need to be just like your competition." My guess, like I said, is Vudu wants to entice you to buy other episodes. Amazon has nothing to do with it.

That said, I agree with you. I'd hate to have to scroll through episodes I didn't have, too.

I used a feature Amazon has as an example of what I wanted to see Vudu have.

And I never said that I want Vudu to be just like Amazon, I am talking about ONE FEATURE that Amazon has that Vudu has totally missed the boat on. Vudu's handling of TV shows, both episodes and seasons, is poor.

By the way, ALL companies look at their competition and steal ideas from them.

Even in the financing business, we go to other companies and see how they do things and what works for them and what doesn't. Sometimes we take what works for them and implement it into our business.

So wanting Vudu to adopt or integrate a feature or way of doing something that a competitor does is not unreasonable.

Regretfully, I already have a current season pass bought through Vudu for Z Nation and The Walking Dead. Between the lack of separation of purchased and non-purchased episodes/seasons, and now with the hideous new design for their Roku app, I would much rather be with Amazon. Which future TV purchases will assuredly be with.
