    THOR (1st movie) dark picture

    Hi,
I just started using my samsung BD-F5900 with Vudu. I had previously been using a WDTV Live player. I rented Thor in HDX. The picture in spots was very dark. Especially the parts where it was filmed at night, etc. Almost made it impossible to pick out what was going on from the dark background. I never remember experiencing this with the WDTV. It was the first movie on the samsung, so I am not sure if it could be the Thor movie itself, or if it will continue with other movies. As i said I have never experienced this before with any other movie service and/or player.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any thoughts?

    thanks!

The studio intentionally made this movie dark on purpose. That's how they wanted to present this title.

While it was intended to be dark if you watch it side by side on vudu and google play on a roku 3 it is substantially darker on VUDU

Like Felipe mentioned, we checked with the studio on this title a few times. The darkness was intended, so we won't be requesting a new encode.

that might be true.. if the PQ is darker then say the blu ray? would that not be the issue?
its much darker on vudu then the blu ray. I have seen streaming versions of captain america 1 that is much darker then the blu ray as well.
