    ATT u-verse, Xbox360, and Vudu

I have att 18Mb download speed. Xbox is directly connected to att modem by ethernet cable.
Anyway, Vudu app is constantly complains "there is not enough bandwidth to play ...". It suggest about 1.5 Mb for SD streaming.

Switching from HD to SD lives the message the same. Of course, it doesn't play video better. Five seconds play and 12 seconds download sounds like a good description. It happens over and over again.

Vudu support for Linux OS doesn't exist. My complains about SD streaming on Linux PC was denied a while ago. "We don't support it" was a reason. Unfortunatelly, Vudu started streaming better on PC so I can watch the movie on computer connected to HDTV.

Vudu app for Xbox could be a better solution but not yet.

Have you tried contacting our customer care team for troubleshooting? (888)554-VUDU, we can take a better look at the issue and see if there is anything we can do to help alleviate some of the buffering you're seeing.

My movies stream just fine in SD using Ubuntu Linux 32bit....I know they don't work using 64bit Mandriva......I think support is limited to 32bit distros only......You need to have the 32 bit version of Flash installed, 64 bit version will not work.....

        I'll call support later.

The real problem is to find out who does it. So far it looks like att u-verse limits Internet bandwidth when you stream video. It happens on Netflix and Dailymotion on Xbox. On Netflix I may have (sometimes!) two-three buffering stops per HD episode. Vudu is similar to Dailymotion.

Vudu on Linux may be a subject of conversation in a different thread.
In a meantime you may express your opinin on surveymonkey

I have u-verse and used to have streaming issues no matter what source the content came from. But those issues went away about a year ago after AT&T did a software update on their residential gateway.
