        Re: buffer issues

I also am having buffering issues -every couple of minutes. now...
I started out watching Total Recall on my Ipad wireless - lots of buffering stop and go. So I tried to switch over to watch it on Mac powerbook. I logged off from the i-pad and logged in with the mac. All I get is the trailer, I was half way thru the movie. Can I switch computers midstream?

How do I get it to restart, then move the slider to the middle of the movie?

            Re: buffer issues

We are not having buffering issues (not for a while, anyway) but what we are having is stuttering issues and sound out of sync issues. No, it does not occur on the computer, only on the Xbox 360. We notice the stuttering most often during fast motion. Regardless, I have stopped the DVD to video conversion I was doing as it has become increasingly frustrating to watch movies on Vudu. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Crackle, Youtube, all work flawlessly, so this is clearly a Vudu issue and not one of people networks. I think it is unreasonable for Vudu to expect people to stumble through network troubleshooting when there are no problems with any other streaming apps on the Xbox. I have already gone through the unplugging devices, uninstalling, and every other "non-invasive" troubleshooting step I can to get rid of this problem. Whatever is happening is a Vudu/Xbox issue.

As far as stuttering issues, was this on any particular content? And was this just for HDX, or for other video qualities?

                    Re: buffer issues

The stuttering issue is a Kinect issue. When the Kinect is plugged into the Xbox the movies tend to stutter. Unplug the Kinect and everything is smooth sailing. What blows my mind is this is still going on. Vudu, I certainly hope you can address this and I hope the Xbox One does not have a similar issue.

We have been trying to get this resolved, but I don't have any news yet - the issue is that the Kinect camera processing is doing a lot of work on the CPU in the background even when it's not being used. Apparently MS has a solution for their video app, but they have not made it available to other apps yet...

Xbox One definitely will not have this problem, as it was designed with 1080p video playback in mind.

Other apps do not have this problem. Youtube, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu - none of them stutter. Vudu is the only one that does. And it makes no difference whether I am viewing the Vudu content on SD or HDX..

                          Re: buffer issues

Same here, for a few months Vudu was great, no issues with streaming HDX, most of the time it was 3 bars. But as of recently and especially today it's been slow as molasses!! Even SD content has trouble. I was trying to stream a HDX copy of Aeon Flux, but it says I have insufficient connection speed which was silly as I have cable, and connection tests always show 30+Mbps on speedtest.net & 25+Mbps on PS3 connection test.

                            Re: buffer issues

I have serious buffering issues on my PS3. For the last few months (since I signed on) it has been working fabulously. Then over the weekend it just seemed to get steadily worse until it's now at the point I can't even watch the season of Banshee I bought in SD, let alone the HDX I purchased. Downloading it moves equally at a snails pace. I have followed every recommendation listed on the board to improve it. I have excellent upload/download speeds via ethernet to my cable modem and all my other services (Netflix, Apple TV etc) work absolutely fine. Vudu even repeatedly tells me that the Speed Test is HDX quality.

I have noticed however that when I watch one of my ultraviolet films it streams perfectly at HDX. Anything I buy tho barely streams for 60 seconds.
