    Xbox 360 Streaming Failure

The last couple of weeks, I've been having a terrible time watching anything on my Xbox 360. My speeds are 50/25, and all of the tests say that I should be able to stream fine. For some reason, every minute or two, my connection goes from three bars on the info pane to zero, and it stops and tries to buffer...it asks me to go from HDX to HD, then to SD, then says I don't appear to have enough bandwidth to stream content.

I called customer support and have tried their troubleshooting tips like resetting my network with no luck, and then the response was that the issue was probably on Xbox end's and not VUDU. All of my other content on Xbox streams fine (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Games, etc.) so clearly there is not an issue with my system itself.

Can anybody help me with this issue? It's so frustrating not to be able to watch anything for more than a couple of minutes without it stopping.

      HI!

You're not the only one having this issue. It's a problem with the Vudu app on xbox. I have a xbox and blu ray player. Usually, my xbox will, with the Vudu app, will buffer every 2 to 3 mins . If I switch to my blu ray player I have no issue at all. Both are connected via wired connection and both are set up the same through the network. It's not a constant issue but at least once a day for half the day.

I found a number of posts and on the net which states this is a Vudu app issue. For some reason your net connection seems to be the only thing focused on until you die. Unfortunately, you have a 50% chance of getting help from someone with common sense. O.o I was about to post about the issue again. Last time a update for the xbox app was released and seemed to fix the issue for a short time then, buffering, buffering. Seems to be related to non UV movies mostly. Try a UV movie and see if you still have buffering issues. If not then that's the issue and it's an app issue.

I hope they fix it soon.

Very interesting...I got a call from tech support and it seemed to fix the problem for the last couple of movies I watched, but I just tried watching Oz The Great and Powerful, and couldn't make it through the movie without the buffering every 2-3 minutes. That was the first non-UV title I had tried to watch, and immediately the problem popped back up again.

Same issue with buffering every few minutes with VUDU app on XBOX 360. All network connections are good. All other Xbox streaming apps work fine. VUDU please reply to this thread and acknowledge there is an issue and then what you are actively doing to remedy it. Your customers deserve and expect as much. Thanks!

I have same problems. My download speed is 20Mps upload speed is 10Mps. All my other apps work fine. Is vids actively working with Xbox to fix the issue. If not I will go back to redbox and save money and just wait a little longer for new releases.

for over a year, had no issues streaming movies on my xbox 360. however, for the past month (approximately) the streaming continually halts, buffers and/or i get a "VUDU is currently not available" (something like that) error message. i have to exit out, enter the movie again and it will play. only to buffer constantly every few minutes. my internet speed is about 20 mbps and the device is hard wired. no other streaming services (hbo go, netflix, amazon, hulu) have any buffering issues.

what's going on? this has to be an issue on Vudu's end. thanks.

I'm having the same issue. I use VUDU with XBOX. I have at least a 25 Mbps wireless connection and a 50+ Mbps wired connection; tried it both ways, streaming kept interrupting, kicking me from HDX to HD and then to SD ( and I STILL had problems every few minutes with SD!). I stream HD DAILY from Netflix, Hulu and Amazon prime through my Xbox without ANY problems.

Highly annoying; if this continues another time or two I will stop using VUDU entirely.

I've been having same issue to the point where I'm considering not using vudu anymore. I've check my Internet speed rates which have averaged 8mbps - nothing less than 5 Mbps. The issue is definitely on vudu's end. No problems with other streaming services like Directv movies or online gaming etc. I've not always had this issue with vudu over the time I've used the app, but almost everytime I've used it this summer. In one instance we couldn't watch the movie until next day at which point it streamed fine.

As with any buffering issues there are many factors that can cause this. It's best to create a support ticket with customer care so that they can get a better look at your network setup. There is no quick fix that I can instantly apply without having gone through the troubleshooting procedures to rule out certain possible causes. You can create a ticket with the link below.

We have the same issues viewing movies thru our Xbox. No problems with any other apps, only VUDU. It shouldn't take 3hrs to watch a movie that is 125mins long. The buffering happens so much that it is impossible to enjoy a movie.

                              Re: Xbox 360 Streaming Failure

I recently switched from TWC-Roadrunner Turbo internet to their new Ultimate speed package which is the fastest internet I can get from TWC. I've streamed movies on my XBox 360 on VUDU in HD a few times in the past with no problems.

Last night I rented GI Joe Retaliation and could not finish the movie. VUDU kept booting me out saying "it appears you do not have enough bandwidth to was this movie in HD" and my 2 options were to continue in HD, or switch to SD. After the first kickout, I continued in HD for another 15 or 20 minutes or so until it did it again. Frustrated, and just wanting to get through the movie, I pressed the SD button. It didn't matter. For another 15 or 16 times I could was maybe 8 to 10 seconds at a time and I finally had to give up.

I have the wireless-N wireless option on my XBox 360 and the "Ultimate" internet package (50Mbps) $85/mo. from TWC, and nothing else streaming on my password protected home network and VUDU is telling me I'm not set up for HD?

Can anybody please help me get to the bottom of this. Apparently throwing money at the situation is completely unrelated to the problem.
