Casting to the chromecast still works. However casting to a nexus player doesn't, the nexus player just doesn't show up as a valid device in the Vudu android app nor does it show up if you try to cast using the chrome casting extension in chrome. Don't understand why this is since both the chromecast and the nexus player support the exact same casting protocol.

Any idea when this is coming? I may need to replace this with a Roku, as i use Vudu all the time! And not having it on my Nexus player is killing me!

The Nvidia Sheild Android TV is going to be the streamer to beat for now. HDMI 2.0, 4k support, 7.1 audio support, 3D support, amazing processing power. Netflix, Hulu, just needs Vudu.

Agreed. Now, VuDu needs to get moving with an official Android TV application. It seems ridiculous that they have availability on Amazon's FireTV/etc. (which are Android-based and can't be THAT drastically different) and haven't said a peep about Android TV.

I do believe that Google needs to be pushing Android TV alot harder than they are and needs to be out there recruiting content producers. Without the content of a Roku, everyone else is just playing catch-up.

I definitely want a Nvidia Shield Android TV unit, though. I believe it is the first new console that really has the potential to be a hit.

Re: Is VUDU coming to the Nexus Streamer?

To quote an old tootsie pop commercial, "The world may never know"

I really hope it does though, there are more and more android tv boxes on the market every day, and while CinemaNow is a decent app, I really prefer to have my entire Vudu library available.

And yes, I know we can cast Vudu to Nexus from our phones or PC, and yes that does rock, but it still involves me having to use a second device when it really shouldn't need to.

Yes, and in additon to being impossible to navigate, limited to SD only, and a pain to launch since leanback apps don't show up on the home screen, I've not successfully been able to get a single movie to open.

Have you tried since the Android app was updated to get rid of that flash-style app?

Sigh... it's frustrating there hasnt been any movement on this. Emailed support a couple weeks ago and was told there were no plans to make an android tv app.

The maddening thing is that there is a Vudu app for Android TV that ships with Sony televisions. It is super aggravating that this app is not available on all Android TV devices. The Roku 4 is a mess with no HDR support, heat and noise problems, red push problems, etc. Making UHD exclusive to Roku and then entirely neglecting to support other STBs is a baffling move. I really don't get it.
