    Whenever i get error 28, i reset my modem it has something to do with the ip address its worth a shot anyways

      I have been having this problem for over a year - just upgraded my system thinking that the "Smart" DVD player was the problem - now accessing with a Sony BDPS6500 - Netflix works fine - VuDu works occasionally - when it does I end up having to "exit" the app and reenter half way through a movie - I have a 20 MB fiber connection that is monitored so I know its not loss of signal - I have updated the Sony apps and the Sony itself - Still get the error code 28 -
      tried connecting 4 times last night - no go - reset everything and tried again - no go -

        Error code 28 is usually synonymous with a network blockage of some sort. Try opening the following ports on your router and see if that helps. The ports 843, 13207, 13217, 13227, 13237, 13247, 13257 are the specific ports required to be open. Some firewalls request a port range - in which case 13,200 to 13299 (TCP protocol).

          contacted our IT guy - he says there are no restrictions on outgoing ports as we also have DirecTV which requires open ports for the Genie systems to work without a phone line
