I agree. Seems stupid to add it, but people DO unlink them (even though it movies seem to be showing more frequently now)

Thanks, Prasanna, that's good to know. At least now craiggers knows it's UV that's the issue. You should probably mention that limitation in the FAQ, since you can link and unlink your accounts from the Vudu website.

I used the Universal studio site to redeem my UV copy because from what I had read here, the studio sites seemed to be more reliable about giving HD copies.

Re: DO NOT UNLINK ULTRAVIOLET! IT'S GLITCHED!

I would suggest using www.vudu.com/redeem to redeem all your Ultraviolet movies.

There are two advantages to doing so:
** You can be sure that your redemption will be instantly reflected in your Ultraviolet account.
** Even if there is a temporary problem with Ultraviolet, you will be able to watch the movie on VUDU.

For dealing with the linked services error, please try the following to see if it helps:

    1. Log in on uvvu.com.
    2. Go to "Our Account" and click on "Account Settings".
    3. You will see a section called "Linked Services" with a list of "linked" services.
    4. See if you have a lot of linked services listed. Deleting some might help.
    5. Now try relinking from vudu.com.

Note: I don't know exactly what the issue on uvvu.com is, so it's possible the above doesn't solve the problem.

Also -- You can only unlink and relink from VUDU to your UV account twice a year at most. This is a security restriction imposed by Ultraviolet systems.

You should NEVER do this as a matter of course. Doing so never helps either. If a movie you redeem elsewhere is not showing up on VUDU, unlinking and re-linking is never the right way to resolve it. Note that we only refresh your movie list when you visit the "Movies" section of the web site after you have logged in, and it may take seconds to minutes for us to retrieve the latest list of movies from Ultraviolet if the Ultraviolet servers are slow.

My recommendation for refreshing your Ultraviolet list would be:
    1. Login to VUDU.
    2. Visit "Movies" -> My VUDU.
    3. If you don't see a movie you expect to see, wait 5 minutes.
    4. Hit refresh on the page. You should see it.

Yeah, I guess it can be a royal pain when you redeem a movie and you want to watch it and you have to wait & wait for UV & Vudu to bless you with their grace.

Sorry to hear it, E55KEV. Just to add another data point, I coincidentally redeemed The Lorax yesterday via UV, and when I didn't see it right away I unlinked and re-linked the accounts via the Vudu website, and that went fine. (The Lorax still didn't show up for about 12 hours for some reason, though.)

But if they want consumers to adopt UV more widely, they need to make this a lot less painful and seamless for us. This is one of the main reasons I haven't bothered with D2D, because I don't know if it's worth it in the long run.

Really sorry to hear this. Hope it gets resolved soon. Suggesting to never unlink your UV account is a really good recommendation. It appears The Campaign has been buggy for many redeemers. If anyone redeems a movie and it does not show up immediately I would suggest waiting or being patient and give it a day or 2 to be added especially if from Flixster.

DO NOT UNLINK ULTRAVIOLET! IT'S GLITCHED!

Some of you have seen the picture I posted in the "Alphabetize" thread. Those who have not.. well.. I have 755+ movies.. THAT I CANNOT WATCH..

Bought the Campaign Tuesday morning at my local Walmart, redeemed the code from Flixster and it didn't show up on Vudu. I did what I usually do when a movie doesn't show up right away... unlink the Ultraviolet and re-link it.

Well... heh... here lies the problem...

! The limit for number of connections to this type of Node has already been reached.

Now I cannot relink my Ultraviolet account up with my Vudu account.

This is going on 2 days now without hearing anything.

Contacted Vudu, they say that its an Ultraviolet problem (which looks like that is the case)
Contacted Ultraviolet, they say that it is a Vudu problem.
Contacted Vudu again, and they tell me to go back to Ultraviolet.

This is an ultraviolet problem explained later. I was able to create a dummy UV account and link it to my Vudu, buy my MAIN UV account is still inaccessible

It's been two days (not saying that is a bad thing, and I don't mind waiting), but any update would be superb. UV hasn't answered me back, *edit* and Vudu has attempted to remedy the problem as stated below. If you don't know what the problem is, can I possibly have all my movies transferred into another NEW UV account? I can re-link all my family's devices on the other 3 Vudu accounts again.

Please don't say "Well watch it off another account". This is my account, and I have spent some pretty big bucks to claim "My" account. I don't want to watch it off another account because "My" account is broken =X

Save your movies guys, don't freaking unlink your Ultraviolet, because I am p***ed.

    -------------------------------------
On a side note, I thought that this would fix the problem:

    1) Create a new UV account
    2) Link the new UV account with Vudu
    3) Merge the new UV account with the old UV "collection"

However, as some people have noticed, merge accounts doesn't fully work yet. So I thought of something else, maybe it was me just unlinking and re-linking too many times, why not just create a new UV 'member' and not a whole account, I technically still have 2 people I can add (4/6 filled)...

When I try to add a new member to my account (so that I delete this possibly broken UV member), I get this message: You cannot add another member because the maximum number of members has already been added to this account.. I uhh... well... uvvu is also stating that: You can add up to 2 more members., but in the same breath it is telling me I cannot. Mixed messages!

I can 'technically' add two more people to my account, but when I complete the member creation, it fails out stating that I have no spaces left. So in essence this does feel like an Ultraviolet problem, BUT there is no TELEPHONE NUMBER to contact them by and it could be MONTHS until I am able to watch any of my movies.

I am giving you my horror story... because this really sucks... don't unlink your ultraviolet account... ever... because there is no guarantee that you can successfully re-link it... BS.

    ================================================== ===================
As for linked services under my UVVU account, I have deleted all of them and tried again fresh: (note some are duplicated because they just want to be special in my linked list?)
    Sony Pictures
    CFG
    Sony Pictures
    Paramount Pictures
    Universal Studios Home Entertainment
    Flixster
    Universal Studios Home Entertainment
    Flixster
    Flixster Digital Locker
    Flixster

Deleted every single link, trying again to link on Vudu, still same error =X
! The limit for number of connections to this type of Node has already been reached

    ================================================== ===================

Thank you PrasannaG for your reply, it seems that UVVU has fudged up my account somehow and I have to get a hold of them to either fix so I can add new members, or transfer my movies to a new UV account and start fresh (which is EXTREMELY RISKY).

    ================================================== ===================
PARTIAL SUCCESS, BUT STILL A FAIL
On a hunch... I created a New UV account, which I dubbed, TestyMcTester, and I was successful in linking this dummy UV account to my Vudu account. The problem now lies... how do I add this member to my MAIN UV account when I still have 2/6 available spaces, but UV won't let me add anyone else because it is stating that my account is full.

THIS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE ON WHY YOU SHOULD NOT UNLINK YOUR ULTRAVIOLET. LITTLE ITTY-BITTY FINE PRINT WOULD HAVE STOPPED ME FROM DOING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE! =S. I'm the guinea pig again =X

I am able to watch all of my D2D movies now (because it's technically 'linked' to an ultraviolet account), but I REALLY do not like this quick fix.

Can any forum admin/mod PM me an Ultraviolet customer service members phone number? I would REALLY like to talk to them on the phone. I feel it is more professional that way
