HDX files on a hard drive?

So I took advantage of the Disc to Digital promotion and converted most of my DVD collection to HDX. I have Xfinity cable that gets on average 20-25Mbs download speeds, but for some reason, my Xbox 360 keeps cutting out when trying to watch HDX AND regular HD Vudu streams. I'm guessing it has to do with the Xbox itself or my wifi setup since my computer, Apple TV, iOS devices in that room all get full signal where as the xbox 360 only gets 1 bar.

The Xbox 360 is my only way of watching Vudu in HDX so since I can't get streaming to work, can I download the HDX files on my computer, put them on a portable hard drive, plug it into my Xbox 360, and play the files from the drive??

I'm assuming yes, but have never done anything like that. If I can, I will purchase a portable drive. What format does the drive have to be? Any suggestions? And how large of a drive would I need to fit about 100 HDX files?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately that is not possible at the moment.
