Unable to stream this movie at the moment due to a network error

Anyone else getting this error message lately?

"Unable to stream this movie at the moment due to a network error.
Please try again a little later."

For the past 2-3 days I keep getting this error. No buffering problems, it just flat out won't play anything.

Everything was working fine up until this week. And I don't have any problems with other streaming services. I've got a pretty fast connection (47 Mbps). So I don't think it's something on my end.

Anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?

    Hi TB,

Are you still having streaming issues? Have you started a case with our support team?

      Hey Dan.

I called CS back on the 8th and they opened a case. They had me reboot the various devices, run speed tests, and email a tracert. Eventually they escalated the case to the Engineering Dept. It's been about 5 days and I haven't heard back from them, so I called the CS phone line again earlier today. She told me that I had to keep waiting for the Engineers to get back to me. She escalated my case again and said they should respond in the next 3-5 days.

It's a weird problem. I'll try to play a movie and get the Network Error message repeatedly. Then try a different movie and it plays fine (HDX with 3 full bars). Then I'll stop that movie and try to play something else and get the Network Error message again. There's no consistency. Sometimes it works fine and other times it won't work at all.

I'll run the Vudu Speedtest (http://speedtest.vudu.com/) and get 35 Mbps. Run it again and get 5 Mbps. I run numerous other speed tests on my computer and various Roku apps, and it always shows around 40 Mbps. I haven't had any problems with other streaming services. Netflix SuperHD (5800 kbps) works fine.

Whats your case number? I'd like to help if I can!

I have this exact issue. Any update on what is the cause or how it can be fixed?

Re: Unable to stream this movie at the moment due to a network error

My problems seem to be fixed by whatever changes Comcast made a couple days ago. Vudu Engineer Jake posted some details in this thread:

              https://forum.vudu.com/showthread.ph...48#post1273448

I'm still getting mixed results on the Vudu Speedtest (http://speedtest.vudu.com/). Sometimes it's 25 Mbps and other times it's 5 Mbps. But I guess that doesn't really matter. I haven't been getting any more Network Error messages or Buffering. I can stream HDX with 3 full bars. And that's what's really important.
