Any resolution to this issue? I only have had problems since the September 2018 update. I can play some movies even UHD but others won't even play in SD. Finest Hour plays fine in UHD while 13 hours won't even load in HDX. So this is on VUDUs end. I have 1g download speeds, hardwired, and have no problems playing VUDU movies through Chromecast, PS4, etc...

Are you on Comcast by any chance?

Can you PM me with your email on Vudu or ticket number so we can look in this for you, thanks.

Hi, I'm having a similar issue on my LG C8. The Vudu app will quit and have to be restarted. Started happening in September and has happened on both UHD and HDX movies. Probably crashes 10+ times per movie. Very frustrating.

            Who is your ISP?

Hello just purchased a 2018 LG B8 OLED and I'm having trouble with the VUDU app as well. Constantly crashes while playing. I've tried wifi and hard wired. I have Cox gigabit internet so pretty good download speeds.

I have the same issues with vudu constantly crashing while playing content. I have Cox gigabit internet so pretty good download speeds. Brand new LG oled b8. Amazon video is working and so is Netflix.

I have an LG 2018 E8 65" and the VUDU app seems to have major issues. Last night tried to stream a HDX rental of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but it constantly had playback issues where the app would just stop. Tried power cycling TV but had the same issue. Get a few minutes thru the movie and it would happen again and again.
No issues streaming the same movie when I went ahead and rented it through Google. It's not a bandwidth issue as I was able to stream 4K UHD thru amazon and Google as a bandwidth test with no issues when it started crashing and neither of them had any buffering or playback issues. But soon as I loaded Vudu to playback the rental it would have the same issue which led me to renting it through Google so we could get thru watching it.

Very disappointing that the service is not stable

This is really ridiculous now. My LGC8...movie artwork will show up as just black boxes, then I?ll click on a movie and nothing will come up, no art, no option to play etc.

I?m also having issues with the vudu app on my Lgc8. I?m using google fiber for my isp.

It's not just LG TVs...I just started having a problem with my LG BD-590 player thru my Panasonic plasma TV (about 10yrs old)...it was working fine for years, but within the past month or so, the app shows "Initializing Vudu Movies"...then "Running Vudu Movies" and there's a little progress indicator circle that continuously spins...the only way I can exit is by either choosing another source on my universal remote or by physically pulling out the LG power cord....I have not had to update my LG BD players in a couple of years now as I'm sure they no longer support this device and it is now a legacy device (actually tried updating firmware last night and, yep, I have the latest firmware...called Vudu...hehe, I wasn't even told this was a growing problem when I talked to the technician, but he was quick to give me a $5.99 credit for any future rental through my Oppo BD player (because this player has no problems with accessing Vudu)...should I consider this a lost cause?

I also have issues with a 2018 LG SK8000 and the Vudu app. Player errors throughout an UHD movie. My 55C7P OLED does not have this issue. Both are most recent FW. I tried the reset region and turn region auto off suggested in another thread, but that only helped for a short time, then the player errors came back.

I have an LG OLED65C6P and I have intermittent issues with the VUDU app for a year. It will stop playing and state connectivity issues. Starting and stopping the app doesn't work - but I can stream fine in FandangoNOW or Netflix. Its frustrating - tonight i had to finish a movie by casting from my PC to the TV. Maybe LG will launch a MA app so I have more options.

I also have had problems.I've mentioned my problems with Vudu and LG numerous times and I'm also waiting for an update so I can watch without a playback error popping up. I've tried all the trouble shootings, and called Vudu Support, emailed them several times. Vudu comes and goes for me. I tell this to them constantly because I'm always getting another ticket number and having to explain my problem over and over again. I'm sick of it all. I'm just hoping an update happens soon. Amazon Prime and Hulu Plus all updated just a few days ago. I never had problems with Vudu until I bought a LG 2018 model.

I have a 55? LG C8 and I can watch maybe 30 seconds of a movie and then I get the playback error, video player has stopped working. The worst was while watching Halloween 2019 a day or so after it was released. I could barely get through it. FWIW, I have Verizon Quantum and am using wifi.
