The Fandango at Home Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Fandango at Home experience. Here, Fandango at Home customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Fandango at Home and Fandango at Home -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc).     Dear Vudu...

    Might I lodge an earnest complaint? Tonight while perusing free 1st episodes with my two children, I selected Fargo. Anticipating a tame-ish program, I was shocked and appalled at the American Horror Story ad at the beginning - this is a scene I will not be able to erase from my kids minds. A demonic and horrifying image that I have etched in my brain against my will - without a clue it was coming. I feel as though I have been violated!!! What the hell, VuDu if I wanted to watch commercials I would go back to DirecTV -- at least I would know what to expect. This was brash and insensitive to say the least - try sticking the horror amongst like genres. If I want to see that I will select like genre. Choice of what to watch is why I Vudu. Sadly, I wasn't even able to subvert what my family saw. Sick man, just eff'd up.

    Fargo has a TV-MA rating, did you know that? That means it's meant for "mature audiences". So if your kids were watching a show rated as such, what did you expect to see? Big Bird and Cookie Monster singing the alphabet? I do agree the short ads on some shows are a tad bit annoying to say the least. My 2 cents.

      In addition, you should probably be aware that Vudu does not add advertising prior to shows playing. That is most likely on the source file of Fargo that they received from FX Network.

      The reason you saw an ad for American Horror Story before Fargo is because they are on the same TV Network.

      Your complaint really has nothing to do with Vudu at all, and should probably be lodged at the Network itself.

          Yes, I can see your point to the MA rating - go see for yourself the ad on the front end of Fargo. Fyi - loved the episode ALOT will watch future episodes. The problem I have - if you will see for yourself was the invasive image from American Horror Story - a series I choose to avoid. There are no warnings. It's just ...there. Not a Sesame Street Muppet...Go have a look for yourself. My only response was to post on this forum, as I said, an earnest complaint. Not my intent at all to be a target for your judgement as to what the content should be for my family. I can be the judge of that when given a transparent menu of choice. Clearly, I did not expect that. Clearly, I Vudu, to avoid the same on satellite/cable

            I know the brand Fargo well, and I am a resident of Minnesota. "tame-ish" is specifically what I expected compared to everything else around. So, don't color me naive. This show was awesome. The preview of the demon was not so 'Minnesota nice' - both kids slept with the lights on and had nightmares from the demonic image - be my guest go watch for yourself. I was shocked, and wanted to express my repulsion on the matter. I did not intend people to gainsay my "opinion".

              The TV series Fargo had some disturbingly violent moments, even for TV-MA content, but I do agree that commercials in purchased TV shows are unacceptable, whatever the content of those commercials.

              If you stopped it at that point, Vudu staff can tell that you did not watch the whole thing, and are very likely to give you a refund if you complain.

                You expected tamish!? Fargo is based on an R-rated movie famous for a guy getting put in a wood chipper. The poster art has a dead body under a tree, a leg being pushed into a meat grinder, 2 people being shot in the head, a machine gun, a hand gun, a meat cleaver, and an axe. The description says how it is about "a grizzly case involving a local crime family," and that's right below the TV-MA rating. Go ahead and show your children that but no, Vudu gets a pass on the commercial.

                  Again...I receive anonymous 'judging' -- you must have infinite wisdom as to the age appropriate content for my kids - (ages??). I think people are bent on slapping their judgement on others so readily without reasoning the content of my concern about the unexpected image. It seems akin to having to watch Viagra commercial and soft porn ads while watching TV with family. Which is why I vudu.!!! I did not expect to see a demon represented in or at the beginning of Fargo - I did expect "tame-ish compared to what is out there"--> (READ without your perception of what I meant) woodchipping and said violence, the GENRE that I chose to watch!! -- Thanks for your heartfelt advice, though...

                    Exactly. Doesn't Fargo have a whole scene with a body being put in a wood-chipper and the red aftermath sprayed out onto pure white snow ?
