    No Surround Sound

Sony X930E, since latest update to VUDU surround sound stopped working on all my movies, only get stereo. Outputting audio through arc to receiver. Never had a problem until latest update. Other apps (Google play, prime, etc.) work fine

I'll second that, Sony X940E, since the last update, I am no longer getting Dolby Digital surround, only stereo with sub. I am using Android TV Vudu App 5.0.114 updated April 23, 2019. I use optical Digital Audio out to Receiver. Netfilx and Amazon Prime Apps and Surround Audio are working perfectly.
    Thanks for the help

It seems this is an issue with all Android devices? I don't have Atmos on my Nvidia Shield either (ticket #190425-000593). I don't know where Vudu support comes up with naming the support tickets but they named this one "Network issues". It has nothing to do with my network because all you have to do is uninstall the Vudu updates and it works again. It's obviously a software issue.

Yes, running on the Nvidia Shield the most recent update to the VUDU app to v 5.9.114_26_1 breaks the ability to stream ATMOS. Reverting back to the previous version of the app restores the ability to stream titles that have an ATMOS sound track. I have reported this to VUDU support as well (ticket #190425-000555).

I have the same issue on my Sony X900f for the past few days. Digital sound works in all other apps.

The silence from VUDU on what I think should be a rather serious issue to them is deafening. Not even an acknowledgement that the update they pushed to users caused a problem! And from what I have read here and on other forums the problem is across Android TV.

They really need to do an emergency rollback then. Whatever "bug fixes and stability improvements" they did in the last update certainly cant take precedence over accidentally knocking out entire Android TV stability and core functionality. No surround sound is not a small oversight and I can't see how they could have missed this in testing.

Hopefully this isn't going to be months.....Stuck in linear PCM sound output on my updated surround setup and I can't fully enjoy these movies. I hope this is a priority.

Seems that they fixed it in the latest update.

It is not fixed for me. I have the Sony A1E OLED and Dolby Atmos was working fine for 4 months. On may 10, it stopped. Even after the latest update, I am only getting PCM audio from the internal Vudu app. It must be Android devices? I called Sony and they said it is Vudu issue.

Also, just checked and Dolby Atmos stopped working on my Amazon app as well!!!

There are only 2 titles on amazon (Susoiria and Jack Ryan) that woud do dolby atmos over ARC on the Sony A1E. So, looks like Amazon and Vudu stopped sending dolby atmos surround sound on the internal TV apps!

I tried uninstalling updates and still the same result = pcm audio insred of dolby atmos.

Sorry for the lack of an update from me. The latest update should have resolved the issue. Thank you, everyone, for being patient with us!

Bejoy, I just tried our Atmos setup on the Sony A1E and i'm able to get Atmos and DD+. Since you're seeing the problem with multiple apps, it could be a setup issue or maybe your TV isn't up-to-date with the latest firmware available for the TV?
