Weird Roku Issue

    SD and HDX both have the problem. TV shows and movies both have the problem.

    Audio dolby d auto detect
    hdmi auto detect.

    ALL DEVICES HAVE THE PROBLEM.

    Resetting will fix it temporarily on the roku 2 (newer model)

      Have done the power cycle and it is only a temporary fix. I have also uninstalled the app, done a power cycle with unplugging it, then reinstalled the VUDU app. The results don't seem any different than a simple restarting of the Roku. It works for a time then it goes back to jumping to the Rate/Share screen.

        Thanks for the info. If restarting the Roku fixes the problem (even temporarily) then it's almost definitely a Roku firmware/driver issue. We will provide this information to them, but it seems this may be another symptom of a longstanding Roku bug (that causes constant buffering until rebooted) with the VUDU app that they have as of yet fixed.

          As far as I can tell this issue didn't start until the most recent Roku update on April 25th. Not certain that it would be related the this long standing issue or not due to the problem not surfacing before the April 25 Roku update. My question would be is there not anything that VUDU is willing or able to do in changing the app software to cooperate with the Roku firmware/driver? I only ask this because there is not another streaming service that I use that has this issue on my Roku devices including Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Disney Movies Anywhere, Google Play Movies, FandandNOW, and CinemaNow. VUDU is by far the best interface though and I would love to get some more detailed answers if at all possible.

            Are you using any other services on these Roku's? If so, which ones?

              I am having an issue with slow speeds in my vudu app on my roku3. It tells me there is not enough network speed to proceed with viewing the movie. This had never happened before and makes no sense because I have a 25 meg connection that checks out in every other app except the VUDU app. This started on Sunday, June 12th. I have restarted, did a hard reboot, and even turned everything off all day today between 7 am and 3 pm and when I got everything back up and running it remains exactly the same. I watched a movie and it made a popping sound the went to a screen that said my network speed was not sufficient to proceed at HDX and I cut it to SD so I could get back to the movie.

              My system is a Roku 3 model 4200X
              Software version 1GN380027946
              Version 7.1.0 - build 4062-4
              My connection is Ethernet at 25 Mbps

              Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

                Roku was able to replicate this issue and is working on a fix in a future firmware update. No ETA at this moment.
