I’ve been a Vudu customer since they started. I use to buy movies on iTunes at the time but made a convert over to Vudu. I don’t redeem movies. 97 percent of my movies I bought. I have 814 movies and 35 tv shows.
I started noticing that Vudu removed some of my movies I had without explanation. iTunes pulled the same thing on me.
The movies I notice that we’re missing was
1. mean girls
2. the crazies
3. showgirls
those were the main ones I noticed that was gone. I noticed the number of movies decreased. Before you assume that I bought Instacopies from people please know that I don’t do that. I use to buy movies from Walmart and my Vudu account is connected and most movies came with instawatch and my account was connected so all those instawatch copies were mines.
what’s crazy is I remember buying showgirls it was on sale for 5 dollars and now the movie disappeared from Vudu and iTunes. It’s not even in the iTunes Store either. I remember buying mean girls. It was on sale for $6.99 in Vudu years ago.
On iTunes I bought a movie years ago. I have email copyr as proof and I notice that iTunes took the liberty of removing the movies from my library along with the purchase history but they failed to realize that I had a email copy of my purchase as proof. Every time you buy something on iTunes they send you a email confirmation and they thought my email was fake and assumed I was asking for free movies.
it’s crazy how you buy movies and they just disappear without warning or explanation. this is the reason why I stopped investing in digital movies. I always buy blu-ray copies. I have a huge blu-ray collection. I’ve been buying blu-rays since they first came out and they were competing with HD DVD . That’s when blu-rays were 39.99-50 dollars each.
what’s the point of buying digital movies when we don’t really own them? If I buy a movie on iTunes or Vudu it should remain there. i shouldn’t have to keep track of my movies. there should be a law that protects consumers. if they gonna remove the movie then offer a damn refund. that’s like buying a blu-ray and the studio executives coming to my house asking for the movie back.
