What device are you using? What other devices do you have on your account?

I get this error every single time I try to use the Vudu app for iPhone and Chromecast to my TV. I've deleted the app and re-downloaded many times. Restarted my phone over and over. I got an email from Vudu today that the new update had fixed prior issues, so I was hoping it fixed this bug. I deleted my Vudu app and downloaded a new one from the app store. Started watching a movie I own on the app, casting to my TV. It wasn't long before it stopped played and I got the message that another device was watching the same title. I am the only user on the account, using the only device connected to the account. It has happened consistently for the last 8 months with every title I've attempted to watch. Doesn't matter if I'm renting or buy the title.

      It. is. infuriating.

ONE device. My IPhone. I have already spoken to CS(who claimed they were regularly on the forum here and have NEVER heard of this issue coming up here), re started redownloaded erased reinstalled etc. etc...
i am back here because it happened AGAIN last night while the kids were watching ?Coco?. NO other devices running. Nothing nada. WHEN IS THIS GOING TO BE RECTIFIED??! We (our family) are done purchasing movies through your service and will be looking elsewhere to spend our money.

Just happened again. Middle of the day and nobody else is streaming. This is ridiculous.

Did you check to see what other activated devices are on your account? Login to the Vudu website from a computer., then look under "Manage Devices" and remove any devices that you do not want or recognize.

Aaaand it happened again today. Yes I have managed devices. Still, those management settings have never changed. I had no problems with what devices are the past. With whatever you people did to combat this unauthorized usage issue, has completely screwed up playback. How about you remove whatever you did till you work this out on your end?? That way your customers don?t have to pay for this screwup. This does not happen streaming to our iPad or iPhones directly. Only when connected to Chromecast.

Thought I would try another movie before going over to Netflix. Shut off again after 15 min. That Vudu is not jumping through hoops to rectify this issue for their already paid in customers, speaks volumes. I?m at a point of being utterly and completely disatisfied with Vudu and I feel like I have been ripped off at this point.

Happened again last night and again today. They play fine on the phone. When casting, there is a problem. Mine is the only device in the House casting something. When are you people going to get this straightened out? Is there some problem in the coding with Chromecast? Fix it please!

Hello! I realize this is quite an old thread, but I'm posting to say that I'm currently having this problem with the Windows Store version of the app on my laptop. Yesterday I was able to play a movie just fine, but today no matter what title I select (even the ones I downloaded for offline watch), I get the "This video started playing on another device" error despite my laptop being the only device hooked up to my Vudu account.
