Most UHD titles will not play

On a Toshiba 4K TV, Vudu running from the installed app on an Ultra HD (4K) Blu-ray player made by Sony - both are fully updated. I *LITERALLY* just got done watching Knives Out in UHD on this setup through Vudu, started before a service upgrade to gigabit and finished afterwards. Trying to play ANYTHING else in UHD, not so much. I was able to briefly convince Avengers Endgame to start up in UHD, after starting and restarting and backing out and restarting again. Doing this for Pirates of the Caribbean 1, or Terminator, or Roger Rabbit, or about anything else in my catalog of UHD movies listed as having been purchased in UHD (which is most of them, at this point), the player accepts the start command, I get the startup window for a Vudu movie with the white line frame and bottom of screen controls and the elapsed/total runtime in the bottom right corner, which won't count up at all. Screen fades out to black, and the movie simply does not play. It sits there on 00:00:00 of however long the movie is, and just doesn't play anything at all.

Play in HDX appears unaffected - but I *PAID* for UHD, and have 948mbps downstream speed, checked under an hour ago when I started trying to play some of my UHD stuff. Ideas?

Have had no issues running Vudu on multiple 4K devices at the same time on only a 50/50 connections.
