No audio info displayed for TV shows, only movies

I have noticed Vudu lists audio format details for movies in the "More Info" section on the web site. But this is missing for tv shows. In the apps they just say "Dolby Digital" or "Dolby Digital Plus" but do not specify the number of channels.

I see "The West Wing" and "The X-Files" series bundles are on sale and I'm interested, but I would be very annoyed to spend the money and find out they are in only stereo. Where is Vudu hiding this info?

I don’t think anyone is hiding anything.

you have to remember that tv shows can be shot over many years, or even numerous decades.

During that time shows have switched from mono to stereo to surround or from 480 to 720 to 1080 likewise from 4:3 to 16:9.

It would be impossible to state the details due to how they vary potentially from season to season or even mid season change.

the details might be easier for a disc box set because the whole set is being released at once and maybe even remastered so it’s all day surround when it was initially stereo.

Shows that are currently still on the air or recently ended would have likely not had their back catalog remastered yet and older episodes could very well have different sound types, screen ratios, and resolutions.
