Questions About DVDs & Digital Copies

Hi, I'm new to the forum and new to VUDU - I just made a VUDU account yesterday. I wanted to ask about buying a DVD movie that has the VUDU Watch Anywhere sticker on it. I bought a 4 movie collection on DVD at Walmart tonight and wondered if the digital copy that would be put into my VUDU account would be in SD since it's on DVD? If so, I haven't opened it yet and would return it for Blu Ray. I don't know if buying the DVDs would automatically mean that the digital copy would only be in SD, which I definitely don't want since I have a HDTV. Thanks for any help!

DVDs will give you SD quality and Blu-rays will give you HDX quality. 4K Blu-rays give HDX quality as well.

That's usually true, but not always. Some DVD's have been known to give HD digital copies, but they are few and far between. You can search google to find out which ones do.

You can also use the disc to digital program to upgrade your DVD's to HD digital copies.

All DVDs give SD with InstaWatch. We might have some DVD UPCs mixed up on our end with a few titles that appear as Blu-rays but those will eventually get fixed.

Also, some UHD titles will give the UHD digital copies such as most (if not all) Warner titles that Vudu has available. Of course this is not true for Instawatch but is true for UV digital codes.

          62 UHD
          792 HDX
          2 SD
