    One down...seemingly without incident.

    I suppose I won't really know if I did it correctly, though, until it's all done. And then, I'd have a "fun" time figuring out which is incorrect.

    Also, just a note--the guy at Radio Shack said that the easiest solution for connecting the basement ends is to put a female end on each and then attach them with an ethernet cable. Any reason this isn't good enough?

            Okay, so now that I have this thing going...do I turn of the power of the Vudu while not in use? If so, it can still do the initial download while powered off?

              The power on/off button on the Vudu only turns off the video signal. The network connection will continue to run even when the video signal is off.
