Video playback for the Hobbit keeps cutting out.

I'm trying to watch the Hobbit but after about five minutes the video stops and the screen goes black, what gives? My connection is great and I have nothing running in the background. This is happening a lot lately and even the update to the newest version of Flash hasn't helped.

I haven't been able to find an answer in Vudus support area because its a mess on useless information. Anyone having similar issues and do they know a fix?

Thank you for your problem report.

Please let us learn about your problem so we can find the cause:
    - What is your hardware: laptop, desktop, CPU ?
    - OS (Win7, Win8, XP, OS X)
    - What is the browser ?
    - If you change the browser (Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari), does it help the problem to go away?
    - Does it happen only to The Hobbit movie or any other movie as well?
    - Does it happen at certain time into The Hobbit, or just any random starting point?
    - Do you see any error along with black screen or the playback just turn black?
If it just turned black it may be the flash player crash/stuck esp. when clicking on playback windows and got no display for playback info bar.

Please follow up with us. We will try our best to resolve your issue.

Same exact issue here. Screen will play for three or four minutes and then crash. Windows 7, all movies, all browsers.

Had the same issue for weeks. I had lowered my internet speed from 15 down to 10 and added Wifi instead of wired. I plugged wired back in and most went away. I bumped my internet up to 50 due to free offer from my provider and everything went away. Switched back to wireless and still happens on occasion.

Wifi can dip or drop in and out even if tests show it's got high speed.

Speed over 10-15 also helps even if vudu speed test say your good since internet can dip below the streaming from time to time.

My account is doing the same thing. I was watching Vudu on my Xbox. Everything was going fine then suddenly it stopped playing and went blank.. Just a black screen. I refreshed it and it worked again.. after 5 more times I figured it had to be my xbox. I hooked my computer up to my television and vudu on my computer did the same exact thing. It took me 3 hours to watch Oz. I want to watch more of my movies.. but not with it doing that to me.

            Any suggestions?

I'm having the same issue. I know this is an older thread, but this is really bothering me. It cuts out on a hit or miss basis. Sometimes i can get 5-10 minutes before it will cut out while other times it will cut out every 2 minutes. I've tried all sorts of browsers and bother Windows 7 and OSX. It is happening across the board. Interestingly, it does not cut out at all for playback on the ps3 via the Vudu app. Is Vudu currently working on this issue?

I only had this issue when streaming with wireless, or when I was doing some other heavy internet work while streaming it. It seems to be an intensive streaming title. If I was hardwired / good wireless speed with no dropouts and no other traffic it was fine. I spent quite a lot of time / frustration with this one initial. I needed an excuse to update my dated routers and it made all the difference. No problems since with Hobbit or any of the other few titles I had this issue with.
