Can someone from Vudu chime in as to where this development currently stands?

I'm just about to watch "A Christmas Story" with my kids for the first time. I'm going to stream it to my Chromecast. Because Vudu doesn't have Chromecast support, I'm buying it on Google Play.

          Just one data point...

Yes, Vudu needs to get to Chromecast and soon. It's the only service I use that isn't currently supported.

Just realized that it's been over 3 months since someone from Vudu chimed in on this.

C'mon Vudu, throw us a bone. At the very least, let us know where the development currently is.

I've got a lot of VuDu compatible devices in the house, but my wife is most comfortable using the ChromeCast.

Please run the numbers and consider investing in a client for this device; I don't think you'll be sorry ;-)

Yes, please give us an update. I have already bought several ChromeCasts (one for each TV in my house) and I have an ever-growing movie collection that I access through Vudu/UV. I want to continue adding to that collection instead of Google Play movies! Thanks!

Official word from Vudu on Chromecast support would be great. I'm done paying for an Xbox Live gold subscription and I'd rather not spend 3x as much for a Roku 3. So my Vudu use is on pause until Chromecast support gets sorted.

I'm contemplating purchasing any new digital movies through google movies instead of VUDU for just this reason. VUDU should have this on the front burner of development if it wants to be a player in this market.

I'm loving my Chromecast. This past Sunday's episode of The Simpsons didn't record because the football game ran long, so I went to the Fox website and streamed it, then cast that tab to my TV. The Fox web site video player was glitchy, but most of the time the full screen cast video looked like it was in HD. I would probably watch a lot more Vudu if I could use my Chromecast.

However, I'm guessing that many wifi networks can't handle HDX, which may be part of why Vudu hasn't been up front in supporting it.

The app should be smart enough to test the network throughput and select the correct type of stream, and adjust on-the-fly if things change. That's what other services (i.e. Netflix) do.

Oh, I know. I should have been more explicit. Vudu tries to stand out among streaming providers by having better audio and video quality than most or all other providers. An employee has said they will not have a Wii app because the Wii can only do 480p. So I'm thinking that they may decide not to support the Chromecast if it's not capable of streaming 1080p.
