I have confirmed the issue with iOS 7 upgrade. While we are working on this, please reinstall the app.

We are sorry for the inconvenience that you would have to redownload movies.

Re: New upgraded version of iOS Vudu player now available!

I am having the same issue with iOS7. I am using an iPad 3. I cannot get playback of downloaded movies (done while still in iOS 6.something). It is in airplane mode, but I just get the spinning wheel in Vudu.

I am having the same issue. Could not watch movies on my flight Saturday

Same problem. At first, I could not download, then reinstalled the app. After reinstallation, I could then download movies. When trying to watch movies offline, the movies play for 5-10 seconds then freezes. I have ios7 and an ipad 2

Re: IOS App Refuses to Download Movies

I couldn't download movies on my iPad mini after the ios7 update. I deleted the Vudu app and reinstalled it, and then I was able to download Iron Man 3 successfully without getting the error message. It played back fine when I checked it.

Then we went on our trip and when my wife tried to play it back in the car, the movie wouldn't play. Now we are home and back to our wifi connection, and it works again.

What is the point of allowing customers to download a movie if you must be online to watch it? I need to be able to download it so I can watch it offline when I do not have access to a wifi connection. Can't currently do that with the Vudu app.

                    tried that.

on my iPhone 4 it plays the first few seconds and then stops. On my iPad, I just get a spinning wheel when trying to playback.

Does playback work for you and if so, what iOS device are you using?

Seriously, when is this gonna be fix? It's been weeks and still no update! Flixster already fixed their. It's just unfortunate that some of my movies that I want to watch are not available in Flixster app....

We are testing the build. It should be out in 1-2 weeks.

Re: iPad app -- random logout, downloads not available

Have you found a solution to this problem? I have the same issue which makes it impossible to watch downloaded movies offline (on an airplane).

I just duplicated the problem with no proxies/VPN/etc. I am on a generic home router/broadband connection.

                            1. Log in to Vudu
                            2. Access Downloaded Content
                            3. Power off iPad (as required by FAA regs)
                            4. Power on iPad
                            5. Switch to Airplane Mode
                            6. Open Vudu
                            7. Login screen appears
                            8. Unable to login and watch downloaded content.

Re: IOS App Refuses to Download Movies

                              I have the same problem.

                              - I can download movies to my iPad just fine
                              - I can play back the downloaded movies on my iPad just fine when connected to the internet
                              - When I try and play back a movie in airplane mode or with no internet connection, the movie starts for maybe 3 seconds and then freezes and goes to the spinning dial

I downloaded a movie specifically to watch on a recent plane journey and was very disappointed to find that when in the air I could not view it.

I have many more flights coming up and I really would like to have my downloaded movies watchable offline.

You guys are aware of the issue - please as the devs what the deal is.

This problem is really putting me off Vudu as a service. I persevered through the early PS3 bugs and now use that regularly. If the iPad offline playback issue isn't resolved soon I will go elsewhere for purchasing my digital movies.

Folks, Loc has already stated that the fix is coming in 1-2 weeks. This is due to Apple approving the update and putting it in the app store.
