vudu broken on tablet (zoomed view forced and no option to change)

I guess no one uses tablets here, I'm not sure how long it has been, there is no option on android tablet to change the zoom view (there is option to toggle zoom view on android phones on lower right, but no such option on android tablet)

I have a samsung galaxy tab s3 and tab s6, same issues on both

We use samsung galaxy tab s4 and s5e. No problems. Try double tapping to zoom out. Are you using the android app from google play, or are you trying to watch from the Vudu website?

I have an amazon Fire 8 HD and it plays fine. As the other person asked, you did not specified if you are using the app or the site.

the android app of course, it may not be noticable when you have a 16:9 aspect ratio screen, but if you try to view movies that are not 16:9, it will fill the full screen instead of having top and bottom bars?

I keep trying to double tap or pinch, nothing changes. the whole screen is filled no matter what.

On phones there is a button on the lower right that can change the zoom mode, but on tablet it's missing

it's sad to see this still have not fixed.
I played around with my galaxy tab s3 and see that the option to change aspect ratio (turning zoom on or off) show up only if I resize the vudu window to a certain size. but every time the window is resized or maximized, the aspect ratio is default back to zoomed in. Please fix this, this is clearly a bug

I am having this same problem. On the VUDU app on Android, it is zooming in movies during playback and cutting off the sides of the picture on tablet devices. This problem has been occurring on every VUDU app update after app version 6.4. I am running the app on an Android 7 NVIDIA Shield tablet with a screen resolution of 1920x1200. If your device's screen ratio is not exactly 16:9, (mine is 16:10), it is auto-zooming the picture to take up more screen space. Please fix this problem or give the app a user preference option to disable the zoom so we can see the full frame of the movie. It is unacceptable that I am not allowed to see the full image of my purchases.

We are aware of this issue and have filed a bug for this. Our Android developers are working on a fix.

Every time I start an episode of a 4:3 TV show it fills the screen. I have to tap the button on the lower right to zoom out and restore the 4:3 aspect ratio and see the black bars on the left and right of the screen. Why do all videos begin playback being zoomed in on the android app? It should be zoomed out by default and you should have to click the button to zoom in if that is what you want. But beginning on zoom is ridiculous! I see a response from FelipeF a forum moderator saying Vudu is aware of this issue and the android developers are working to fix it. Well that was two years ago!

What exactly are the 'android developers' doing all day? Having extended lunch breaks and not doing their jobs? For this issue to still exist is absolutely laughable! It's obvious that Vudu and now Fandango care NOTHING about fixing issues like this when it's multiple years later and NOTHING has been accomplished. You guys are a TERRIBLE company! More evidence of that is the horrible new Roku app for Vudu that Fandango just put out, new developers and management is needed because the current leadership is getting nothing done!

                    This issue is still happening.
There neeeds to be an option on allowing zoom or not, please abandon the automatic forced zoom.
Let us control the view we need.
Every episode on shows with 4:3, i have to adjust.

How did no one notice this in testing?

On samsung s23 ultra, it also happens on any other phone and table I've ever used with Vudu.
This does not happen on other services. They don't zoom in like your face is pressed against the screen for every individual title with a ratio difference.

I am tired of investing my money with you, with so many issues with content that I own, can't even download at times. There are constant issues with subtitle accuracy, including timing. These are issues going back a decade, still, no changes.

You demand a separate login for your support site, instead of streamlining it with Vudu.com. another hurdle.

You guys make a lot of money, yet you can't put out small changes to improve your overall service.

This auto zoom has been ruining the experience FOR YEARS.

Still. This post, though I bet not the original one about the issue, was created 4 years ago, it was commented that a "fix" is in the works from a moderator, and still, no changes. I have previously called in about this as well. Nothing changes.

I am ceasing all purchases until these issues are actually fixed.
Additionally, I will be forwarding this and further complaints to the FTC.

                    Fix your poor, inconsistent product.

There was a time I didn't hate Vudu. Let's get back to that.
