    Vudu Still Has Buffering and Streaming Problems?

    Here's what I found out:
    1) Blu-Ray Player: Still buffers during stream. It causes a lot of content to just jump a iittle. Seems like its constantly buffering in the background and it isn't downloading fast enough, even when I pause it, to get enough of the file downloaded to play after a few seconds.
    2) PC: Same thing. In Google Chrome, this seems to happen. On Windows 10, BTW. The closest fix I found was running older Internet Explorer (not Edge) to try it and it seems more stable.

    Speed test says 50MB down, 10MB up. Netflix works great 99% of the time lately (with that, it was set to where it usually tried to pull down real big video files and caused lag half the time. Setting it back to the middle option for video playback quality helped). I tried it with Vudu to start lots of videos out in SD. But except for Internet Explorer, the fix doesn't seem to help. There's still definitely some buffering issues. You don't see the icon, but the movie seems to just take its time in wanting to play.

    Anyone else having problems like this?

    I usually (99 percent of the time) use a PS3 to stream and have had no problems... but the other day I did test something to see if an encode issue was the same on another device. I used Chrome on a Win 10 PC and found it to be very jumpy and buffering a lot. Never had this before when I used to only watch on a PC ....but this time it looked to me like it was having issues adjusting the quality back and forth due to the adaptive streaming which Vudu has now implemented. Maybe some bug testing for Chrome/Win10 needs to be done...

      I too, use Chrome and Win10 and didn't have any issues until a few weeks ago. Netflix worked fine and the issue seemed specific only when I use Chrome to stream shows/movies on Vudu. I then switched to Internet Explorer 11, and it worked just fine with Vudu streaming the very same shows that it sputtered and clipped with while trying to use Chrome. I was using Google Chrome Version 53.0.2785.143 m and ran the update to Version 54.0.2840.59 m. My issues have now cleared up and I hope this helps you with your issue as well.

        Google introduced a bug with hardware-accelerated flash video playback in Chrome 53 that they fixed in 54. That was likely what you saw.

          Thank you! Yes this has solved it for me too... I was unaware of the update and usually the auto-update works better.
