    More VUDU boxes on Ebay.

Why are so many VUDU boxes suddenly showing up on Ebay?

We'll probably see more and more show up. Once it gets past the 30 day return period, people can't return the box back to us so if they're not happy with it, they'll throw it up on eBay.

      That is a bit odd...

I especially like the one that lists it as an HD DVR. Kinda makes you wonder if these are even legitimate auction items.

Hopefully a shipment of Vudu boxes didn't happen to get hijacked...

I'm not sure you meant to imply what you SEEM to have implied...

Anyway - most of these boxes are listed as new - never been opened. I only see 1 or 2 that could potentially be listed from someone who bought it and didn't like it (as you seem to imply that many people will be doing. Which I don't think you meant to imply nor do I believe).

Possible a lot of folks snatched them up when they were on sale for $250.
Otherwise, kinda foolish not to use a 30-day return window.

So you are not going to wait to see the HD movie offerings, updates to the software?

Observation - there are 10 times as many Apple TV's on ebay. Does this mean they are 10 times worse?

Observation - 1/3 of the ebay listings are from the same user, selling with Buy it Now for greater than list price.

                You gotta love capitalism!

In the interest of full disclosure it is very possible that a lot of these boxes are being sold by people who purchased a box at the evangelist price along with the movie credits. They've decided they don't want to be evangelists and are selling it to make some money.

Yeah, I know. It sucks when putting it on the DMZ does nothing.

Oh yeah, AppleTV will be so much better too.

NO SD movies in DD5.1 (I hope Apple hears the same catcalls as Vudu on that).
HD movies are only in 720p.
Can't move content rented on an ATV to any other device
                    HD movies are RENT ONLY
AppleTV has same viewing restrictions as Vudu.

I'm not real sure what value you've added to the forum with this post.

                      Sorry you're unhappy.

I played around with the VUDU tonight at Tweeter. That remote is rather nice. Although I kept trying to tilt the wheel left and right like I do with a mouse. But it was very intuitive and navigating was fast.

I also checked for the VUDU at the Magnolia inside the Best Buy store. They said they don't carry. I guess it's only in the stand alone Magnolia stores. If they did have it I would have purchased it since I had 10% off and I was also getting a Denon 3808 so it would have qualified for the 36 months no interest. I'm just not having any luck finding the VUDU for a lower price.

At least I got the chance to play around with it at Tweeter. And that experience definitely makes me want to get the VUDU box much sooner rather than later.

On the VUDU's web site they have a list of retailers.

                          http://www.vudu.com/buy_wheretobuy.html

No Magnolia's listed or Best Buy listed in Virgina.

                            Try searching for Best Bubbahbuy....

You can buy one on Amazon.com for $350, while not a whole lot better then $399, it is better than nothing.
