Your website says you add 5 to 20 movies a week, and that new releases are put on Vudu about the same time as the DVD release (3-4 months following theatrical release).

Do current releases come off Vudu when the pay TV / free TV windows start (roughly one year after theatrical release)?

It depends upon the policy neotiated with the different studios. There will be times when a hot new release will expire, and then a few months later it will be back on the vudu shelf. You may also see limitations on rental vs. purchase depending on what point in the release we are in. These limitations are imposed by the studios and we have to follow the rules. These are the same rules applied to all of the media channels.

The good news is, we have a new model that may persuade the content owners to rethink their business model. Only time will tell.

Ed's correct. Some of the movies are old and well beyond their "TV" release date. It really remains to be seen what exactly happens. We are at the mercy of the studios. It's possible that a movie could be rental only or purchase only for a while. Then it could go away and then possibly come back as both rental and purchase. I'm not privy to how the content is licensed and what the arrangements are or what determines what. I would expect though that the advertised 5000 movies is really just the beginning...
