Vudu plugin for Windows Media Center?

I am not sure of the technology behind all this but I would love to have Vudu on my HTPC in order to have all my movie needs on one machine instead of 3 (Tivo, Vudu, HTPC).

What is the likelihood of such a thing happening? I'd even be happy to have Vudu on Tivo at least, they already have Netflix and Amazon VOD but I refuse to use those.

Or dump the stand alone VUDU and the HTPC for a streaming VUDU like the LG BD390. that way you have VUDU, BD and a device that streams several other formats reliably.

For me my HTPC days are over. I used them extensivley between 2001 adn 2005. and then between 2005 and 2007 my usage waned alot until I stopped using them in 2007. Now there are many devices that can do what an HTPC can.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I have a great plasma that is only 2 years old - so new HDTV is out of the question, then for my needs (movie and music server for the home with over 600 films and 3000 songs) the HTPC is the only cost effective solution that I know of in one box.

I am trying to put as much as possible in one box and so far has been able to reduce everything to an HTPC, a Tivo and a Vudu... and as soon as MCE is more stable I hope to be able to drop the Tivo and consolidate, another 10 years and maybe technology will have caught up with my needs (at an affordable price).

I thought I read where win7 was the best choice for dealing with TV and video content.

The current Windows Media Center solution (Boxee) does not cut it for high end media PCs. Download (not streaming) of HD and HDX is mandatory. I am very disappointed with VUDU app for PC.

I still have my BX100 (and love it) but cannot find a IR dongle. In other parts of this forum VUDU states it will continue to support these boxes. Parts support should be a part of that.

i am in the same boat as kevin. i have wmc that cannot get to vudu content and a bx100 that i can't buy an ir dongle for. i have a high quality bluray player that is RS232 interfaced into my automation system so i really don't want to buy a br player.

i understand that bx100 owners are not the mass market for vudu. perhaps they could at least publish the schematic for the IR dongle so some enterprising person might create an ebay business out of it. or maybe there is a commercial IR reciever from xantech or niles that could be modified to work with it?

Now that Cable Card tuners are prevelant for Media Center (Ceton, Silicon Dust, Haupauge) Win7 Media Center - which is the ONLY cable card supporting device, has become the real "all in one" format. From it, I can manage: my cable TV and it handles my DVR with 8 tuners for full PVR; Netflix, Bluray.. all in one.

Since Win7MC comes with every copy of Win7 Home Premium, Pro & Ultimate, you'd think there would be some incentive for a version of VuDu that worked with it.

                    Anyone?
