We?ve been working on making features of our streaming services available to our customers using VUDU set-top boxes. While the features announced at CES are currently not available in the Brazil Public Beta, you can begin to experience the streaming service by joining the Brazil Public Beta. To join, complete the short survey at:

      https://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?...xwwLDurg_3d_3d

Please remember this is a public beta, it?s not perfect, and we appreciate feedback on your experience using this service so we can work on making it better.

By joining the public beta, you get the best of both worlds as you can enjoy trying new features, and then go back to the familiar experience of Amadeus.

Wow ! It looks like VUDU is expanding bigtime this year. It seems alot more products are going to include the VUDU service in them.

Any word if this is only Mitsubishi or can we expect LG and the like to incorporate this. Would like to see if it is technically possible to add this to a BD390.

It sounds like those of us that were early investors with vudu (a.k.a. have set-top boxes) have been left behind...

Is it safe to assume that we'll never get these new apps announced at CES and that it will be just the new streaming TVs that get them?

I don't know how you can read that the STB VUDU boxes are left behind. The public beta for the STB has VUDU apps and more are on their way?

I've just seen the CES reports about Vudu dropping STBs in favor of putting Vudu into TVs and Blu-Ray players and I'd like some sort of guarantee that those with Vudu boxes will continue to be supported. I'd also like to know how peer to peer will work when most of these devices dont have storage?

                Yours, a worried customer.

I didn't read that the STB Vudu boxes have been left behind from that specific post... However, it seems that the streaming services already offer what Vudu has failed to offer its STB owners over the past couple years...

It just feels/seems that the STBs are obsolote (i.e. it's incredibly hard to find the boxes anymore, you can find one on eBay for like fifty bucks, etc.) and that Vudu is going to focus on the new, a.k.a. streaming technology, rather than dwell on the old.

The download delivery service through the VUDU STB will continue to be supported by VUDU. New titles and features will still become available on the VUDU STB.

Re: CES - Over 100 new VUDU Labs Apps Coming

Personally I've only used the Amadeus software a few times since putting the Brazil software on my three VUDU boxes. And that was only so I could download a movie ahead of time to take to my girlfriends since she only has 1mbs DSL. Otherwise, at home, I will only use the Movie Streaming of the Brazil software.

But it is certanly nice to have both options available with the stand alone boxes. It gives the box the best of both worlds.

                        Thanks for that reassurance.

Do you have any info on how the service will be delivered in the future if, as it appears, local storage is not a requirement for these 3rd party Vudu devices? Are we looking at a shift away from peer-to-peer, or will our STBs be carrying the load?

                        Thanks,

                        Dave

The VUDU download delivery service, Amadeus, will still use our patented peer-to-peer delivery system.

I hope so, because the peer-to-per surface is the best. I have Netflix on my TIVO and their streaming SUCKS a$$.

I do think that the set top boxes are SWEET. Too bad they are being discontinued.
