How is the sd quality and sound?

I have never rented any sd quality movies yet. Was wondering how the sound and video quality Is? There are a few movies I would like to see that are only in sd.

I have watched quite a few SD movies and they look good and sound good. Not as good as HD/HDX but I found the experience good. I would say they are as good as a DVD. This is just my perspective based on movies playing on my equipment, mileage may vary depending on your equipment.

I agree with the DVD quality post. If you are used to HD or HDX, then at first SD will seem a little grainy. But, as with most things, you quickly adjust and it looks fine. I've never noticed a sound issue. I prefer HD or HDX of course but some movies only available under SD. Don't let it stop you from watching it.

this is an interesting thread for me because I find the SD video to be very good, the sound(depending on the source) could be in stereo(on my receiver it shows Dolby Pro-Logic) or Dolby Digital 5.1.......I find the stereo audio to be a few DB lower than Dolby Digital.....I have to turn up my receiver a few notches to get the same level of sound as I do in Dolby Digital.......
