"Today's 99 cent Rental" section and Finding Neverland

According to the Vudu Facebook group update, "Finding Neverland" was the 99 cent movie today. However, when I look up that movie, it is not at 99 cents.

In addiiton, the "Today's 99 cent rental" section under "Explore Catalog" has been replaced with an Obama movie collection. I am assuming this is a technical difficulty or error, but I would appreciate some feedback on this and wondered if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks.

    Hi Agent007,

Could you post the device ID of your box please?

This is a strange issue. Could you please try a reboot of the box. Unplug it from the outlet and let it sit for about 30 seconds then plug it back in. Does the 99 Cent menu come back after the reboot?

Can I find out what each day's 99 cent movie is on the website? Thanks, Kerry

I tried unplugging and rebooting, but no luck. Which number is the device ID and I should just post it on the forum? Thanks.

And by the way, I also looked up today's 99 cent movie, Speed, on Facebook, and yet its pricing is the normal pricing, not 99 cents.

It appears that the static database that is currently loaded on your VUDU player is about a week old, which explains why you are not seeing the 99 cent Movie of the Day. Keep your VUDU player powered on and connected to the internet, you should receive the latest static database (14:2987) within 24-48 hours.

Ok, thanks. I have kept Vudu connected full time, so this is surprising, but maybe there were connection issues when it tried such transfers. Best regards.

Re: "Today's 99 cent Rental" section

I have not had the 99 cent category for a couple days either, and the Facebook listed movie is at a regular rental change.

Info shows that my database is up-to-date. My box id is 0x3901. It has been continuously connected to the Internet.

I rebooted into Brazil, and voila - there it was!

It still hasn't been fixed. It says that it is "Up to Date" in the Settings and Info. section, but perhaps it is not.

I would actually like to order Being There, today's movie. Please let me know how I can do that, such as with an order and manual override, or some other way.

                    Thanks,
                    -Mike

We found a bug with the database that is currently loaded on your VUDU. We are working on a fix and should be releasing this to the field today. If you would like to rent "Being There" go ahead and select the format you wish to play it in and I will refund your account the difference.

you said the latest version of the database is 14.2987 but mine is 14.2977 and says it is up to date. my unit is 0xb845. It is always connected and I am having all the same issues reported in this thread. How can I refresh the database?

This is the bug I was explaining in my earlier post. We are working on a fix right now which should be deployed to the field today. Please standby for an update.

I have had the exact same symptoms over the exact same timeframe as Agent007. My database version is also still 14.2977. I have the VBX1000 (XL) box with device number 0xd576. I rebooted it this morning and no update fix so far.
