Vudu Apps Question on Magnavox BluRay Player

I just got a Magnavox MBP5120F BluRay player. The Vudu seems to be working ok, but I cannot find how to access any apps? Are the apps available for this player? Thanks

I can't say about the 5120, since I got the 5130. I had read a few reviews about people who got the 5120 returning and Wal-Mart exchanging for a 5130. On the main screen it shows Vudu, Netflix, and Blockbuster. But when you go into the Vudu app, you will find everyone of the apps that are currently available. Seems to be around 40 of them. Not sure if this helps.

You will need to update the firmware. There are a few apps available for that particular model.

If I would have known you only place certain apps in certain devices I would have NEVER asked for this Magnavox MBP5120F BluRay player. I think that is rather unfair to your customers to limit the better apps to certain devices.

Know this, I would never purchase any other product with a VUDU logo nor recommend one to friends or family because of this practice. If I still have the receipt I would take it back to the store and made to purchase one the gives me NetFlix instead. This is a terrible and deceptive practice Vudu.

        A unhappy and lost customer.

Welcome to the club, the whole idea of a not expensive blue ray player with apps was very appealing, but then dissapoinment when only a few apps show and not the ones you want, and renting movies with Vudu is quite expensive for todays prices; nice try but I have to sign up to Netflix and their free trail.

There are only about 10 apps for the 5120. I just took mine back to Walmart (no receipt, got store credit) and got the 5130. Now have all the apps!
            Take it back.

              Hi,

Unfortunately, it's generally up to the manufacturer to decide which apps are included, not VUDU. As some others here have mentioned, a larger set of apps is included on the 5130.

I don't know the particulars of those players, but in this case my guess would be that the 5130 has a more capable processor that will let it run apps that the 5120 doesn't. I'm pretty sure the 5120 doesn't have Pandora, Youtube, Netflix, or other network streaming apps for this reason, as well.
