Your Vudu today is not the same product that it will be six months from now!

So you're saying 1.6 will be released in six months?

(No need to reply, just mess'n with you)

I hope it doesn't take that long! After all, the next release is imminent.

This is why, despite my low ranking on the selection of movies, I still really like the product and am glad I kept it.

Is the gaming category for things like Donkey Kong or for things like Sports Betting and Poker?

It would be cool if I could watch tv and make/lose some money at the same time!

I put the gaming thing in there to see how people were thinking about things like XBox and PS3, but really I don't see it even being remotely important for Vudu to consider anything extensive in the gaming category. I mean, maybe some small card games as mentioned above might work, but really if the box had a Flash-capable web browser it'd be way ahead of most of the other such boxes out there and the Internet would take care of providing a ton of games.

So I voted for media extender functionality and TV show rentals, but the extender functionality is certainly key to me. If this doesn't happen, I will eventually chalk my Vudu purchase up as a learning experience and move on to AppleTV or something similar. I have a PS3 on my main home theater setup and the Vudu in the master bedroom. I would love to be able to do DLNA/UPnP streaming like I can with my PS3 in the bedroom.

I really do think this is a do or die type of feature that would hugely broaden the appeal of Vudu.

Don't chalk it up too soon. Vudu is an evolving product and will continue to expand and add features. There's only so much you can do with adding movie/TV/delete/IR/storage/network, etc type features. Eventually, I think Vudu's going to have to evolve into a media player. I have no idea when that will happen. But the Vudu you have now will not be the same in six months. My AppleTV was the same for nearly a year until a few weeks ago. Who knows when it will have any additional functionality. ATV is a great example of a product that does a number of things OK, but nothing superb (the new features add a lot of capability but navigation around a movie while viewing is still poor and awkward). Vudu is an example of something that does one thing superbly well.

I have more patience than what I implied. Heck, the $400 is already spent
