    Questions.. err.. suggestions?

I really want one of these bad-boy VUDU boxes, but I have two problems. The first has been beat to death so I won't even address it.

Problem 2: I am a HUGE fan of DVD special features, such as making-of documentaries, commentaries, etc. Are there any plans to make such features available with movie purchases on VUDU? I usually only watch the feature once (and I mean once), and from that point on, watch my movies with the commentary tracks turned on. I could see myself using the box as my main rental unit, but as far as purchases go, it's a no for lack of bonus features.

I imagine this is a near-impossible request due to licensing issues, but that's what I like out of my movies.

    What are your thoughts?

    Welcome to the VUDU forums.

Item #2 has been discussed here also. The video/audio content on the VUDU is not "Ripped" from DVD's but delivered in a RAW format to be converted to the format used by VUDU. You are correct that the additional content would require licenses and technology changes to support it. There has been many requests to VUDU to provide such features. Where they sit in the priority queue for VUDU is not known at this time.

It sounds like purchases of movies would not meet your requirement but rentals may. You could always take advantage of the 30 return policy if you do decide to purchase a VUDU and take it for a test ride.

I think it would be great to have those extras available - even if they were available just as separate videos. Can you imagine if production companies sold off extras separately from the video? Seems like you could sell more bits and pieces to people than forcing the whole thing. Bonus content items could be available free with purchase or for $1 each separately.
