you have to be kidding right?

6 bucks are you kidding! you are robbing people and they dont even know it or as i hope they do and yours will be the first app on my device that no longer works. blue ray redbox = 1.50 you really think that convience is worth 4 times the cost. if you do i hope for a quick OOB sign for you. i thought 3.99 was high but figured oh well its easy than you get into it and find out the truth. and this isnt even considering the lists of problems stated in your forums. we have to pay for our bandwidth on our internet suppliers. im not paying for yours too. which is the only reason to have difference prices. since its the same movie and just transcoded down to what is purchased. if this is not the way your doing it than there is a tip for ya save you at least a couple bucks a movie.
i am not quite sure how you got such a big name, maybe the price is for your advertises they deserve a raise great job. on a final note. 3.99 4 times a month = 15.96 6.99 x 0 times a month = 0 so how did you make out on our business together.

Well, I can say that if you wanted to watch a movie in HD via OnDemand, they charge about $5.99. For that, what you get is an altered, cropped image (missing between 30% - 60% of the picture...and the image is 1080i.

For the same price, VUDU offers a 1080p (!) picture and the movies are not altered from their original theatrical presentation. And some are even presented in Dolby Digital Plus.

You can guess which I'd opt for. Only problem is that VUDU now seems to have buffering issues. If they can resolve that, then the service is aces. (Although a lower price is alway welcome!)

Yeah i understand your comparison to on demand and such 1080i stuff but i dont have cable or sattelite so thats not an option. Im just stating prices out right. its just too much. 1/3 to rent what it costs to buy something is too much and thats a real disk. its about 50% of what they charge for online purchase. but that doesnt interest me if i own it i want a hard copy that is atleast downloaded to my system not own something that is in no way controlled by me thats like a permanent rental not ownership. im really only able ot compare to blue ray disks for the same quality as the &5.99 and as i said 3.99 which is more than twice the cost might be reasonable for the convience of not having to go get it. but not at 5.99 . I saw someone in another thread mention that they use to charge alot more for the supposed ownership. i dont think they brought the prices down because everyone said it was a great deal . I do give them respect for posting my message i know other forums that would not have. and hope they read it and reconsider their prices. its just seems like they think sd streaming is a standard and they set a price of 3.99 (too high) to start with than think they should just tack on a dollar for anything above that hd another dollar than their fancy name for the real hd you thought hd was than hey heres 3d we can get another buck. If people dont tell it or show it with poor usage than next well have all movies play 1 hour from rental or 45 minutes for another buck or for 4 bucks you can watch it now. I will not give them my credit card so i havent even tried it. im taking that streaming the high quality format is same as a blue ray disk so thats great. but bottom line as i stated and seen stated throught out the forum. at 5.99 they get no money from me at all. at 3.99(and no im not paying 3.99 for streaming sd) they wouuld get some money from me. if at 3.99 for the hdx they couldnt make any money on the transaction than they are going to have a real hard time keeping this as a profitable business.

one idea though is since they are owned by walmart their should be a choose to buy as digital download or have disk mailed to you.

Re: you have to be kidding right?

I watched two HDX movies Saturday night(between 8PM EDT and 1AM EDT) on one of my Boxee Boxes. 3 bars and no buffering.
Excellent audio and video quality and I didn't need to wait a few weeks for the Blu-ray Disc to come out to rent.
Would I like a lower price? of course. But their prices are inline with all other VOD services. Only the audio and video quality from VUDU is better. Besides the studios ultimately control the prices and what will be avialable to rent or purchase.
