Trouble downloading vudu to LG BD690

If any of you have an LG BD690 or knowledge of it please comment.

Ok so I bought a new BD690 because of its 250GB HDD. I can stream movies fine on vudu but I can't get them to download to the HDD. when i click on the download tab it seems to be downloading fine. But after it finishes and says 100% complete I can't locate them on the HDD. It just says "empty" still.

I contacted LG support and the rep came up with the conclusion that I had to have an external drive plugged into the usb port and that the vudu movie had to be downloaded to the usb drive FIRST then transferred to the HDD. That just seems absolutely absurd to me to have to go through an extra step of transferring it to the HDD when you should be able to download It directly to the HDD. Surely LG doesn't have a design flaw this horrendous. I got the feeling the service rep was trying to find the quickest & easiest way to end the call with me.

I haven't tried his suggestion because it seemed so absurd. If anyone has any knowledge of this being true or false please comment

Re: Trouble downloading Vudu to Blu-Ray LG BD690 HD

I also am trying to download from Vudu to the internal hard drive on the LG BD690 and was told by LG support to use the external USB port. Can't believe this is the way it is done. I did send a small sample video from my computer and it will place itself into a file and will play. The download I did from Vudu shows the GB used and total available in the right upper corner of the screen (4 GB/227 GB) but did not place itsrelf into a file. This LG came with Nero Media 4 (which by the way was very hard to get activated from the CD enclosed with the player). Maybe Nero is the problem. Their support is business hours so might know more tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas or info would appreciate your help.

Has anyone been successful in downloading and playing movies from the HDD of the BD690 / BD-690?

From what I have been told by Vudu support, the only way to play movies from download is on a PC/Mac or device running the Vudu-to-go app. Downloading a movie on any other device only helps to prevent buffering while streaming the movie. Pretty inconvenient if you ask me, but I hope that helps.
