Why is vudu not an option on some of the newer tv's.

I have a sony blu ray player that I use to watch vudu all the time however my fiance purchased a brand new Sony 46" LED 3D tv last week with all of the streaming apps and vudu is not listed. I went back to the store and noticed vudu was not an option on several of the tv's. Is there a way to download it to the tv? Wondering why vudu is not listed with alot of the streaming packages any more.

    sjones,

You can find the devices that VUDU is available on here: http://www.vudu.com/devices.html

We'd be happy to pass your request on to the proper people.

the thing about that list is it's clearly not complete as some devices i know of with vudu support are missing (for example the Sony SMP-N200 and BDP-S185)

Speaking of options, I see in the list a couple of new set-top devices, the Iomega Screenplay units....One has a 1TB hard disk.....Does VUDU allow owned movies to be downloaded to it? I currently have the WDTV Live Hub and downloads are not allowed....

Thanks for that, Dan.....Just one question if you can answer it....Why approve two units that can do downloads in addition to the PS3 and a Blu-ray player and not allow them to download? I.E. the WDTV Live Hub and the Iomega unit with the 1TB hard drive, turning them into streamers only....There are already approved streaming-only devices for each manufacturer....I doesn't make sense....

It looks like only VUDU and Netflix are on the Iomega, while on my Live Hub there are other choices that allow downloads.....If you want to respond via PM instead of the boards, that's ok too....Thanks..
