Fandango at Home Forum Guidelines

The Fandango at Home Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Fandango at Home experience. Here, Fandango at Home customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Fandango at Home and Fandango at Home -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc). Although the primary purpose of these forums is to help Fandango at Home customers with questions and/or problems with their Fandango at Home service, there are also off-topic areas available within the Fandango at Home Forums for users to chat with like-minded people, subject to the limitations below.

    When you look at a version number 1.0.1 that usually means that its just fixes to bugs. Now if it went to 1.1 one would assume some new feature was implemented. That is how I usually do versioning....

    One thing that TiVo has that the VUDU doesn't have is a messaging facility. When a TiVo update comes down that enables a something new we all get the notice on the screen....I hope the VUDU folks are working on something along these lines to better communicate.

    Yeah, well, regardless of that - think about how many movies Vudu is going to be releasing each week to get their database up to just 10,000 movies and how many of those are going to be well known. Same at Blockbuster or Netflix - there's a lot of stuff you've never heard of..

    This belongs in a different thread ... but I noticed a software update to version 1.0.1. I know it must be a minor release, but it would be nice if they let us know what's the updates do, like TiVo does. Inquiring minds want to know ...
    Not much really from what I know of. A few minor tweaks and fixes. I'm not sure what I can or can't say so I'll let someone from Vudu comment further. I think I can say that there's no new features with this.

    Not every movie is going to be one you heard of. There's lots of independent and foreign films made every year. Hollywood doesn't produce enough movies in a year to support a 5000 or 10000 movie database...

    I think someone at Vudu should try a little harder to keep the list's up to date.

    The odd thing is .. alot of the new movies that come out, such as "Bug" aren't on the feature movie list or even in the new releases selection.

    I think someone at Vudu should try a little harder to keep the list's up to date.

    Great information. Keep it up. This is what I need. If I know a movie is definitely coming out on vudu within a reasonable time frame from its dvd release I will wait and rent it from vudu. Maybe you should make this a sticky thread so that it stays at the top of the forum and doesn't work its way off the main page.

    Information about movie availability
    In order to provide the widest possible selection of movies, VUDU offers movies from a large number of studios, including all of the major Hollywood studios as well as many independent studios. Because each studio specifies when their movies are available to rent or to own, not all movies are available on the same schedule. For many new releases, the movie will be available to own on VUDU on the same day that the DVD is available to buy in stores, and it will be available to rent on VUDU a few weeks later.
